Trending & News Food and energy should not be excluded from inflation and the media should not be required to report anything because that is their choice.
The media is not supposed to be some state-run apparatus and if it is then it should be destroyed.
Thanks for MHO :-)

Gas prices and food staples are purposely omitted not because of volatility but because if they were included the inflation rate would be twice what they are reporting.
Biden's handlers carefully kept the yearly rate under ten percent just so the Republicans could not use the catchy slogan "double Digit inflation" when describing Bidenomics.
10%? What source are you using and what's the time frame, region, economic sector, etc?
The media would omit anything outright if it hurts the Biden administration and/or puts Harris in a bad position.
Even if 100% true, would the Fed lie? To the stock market & finance sectors? Are you insane? You can't POSSIBLY advance that "reasoning".
I used to believe the FBI would never enforce partisan investigations. The WHO was supposed to be impartial too.
Then in 2020 the FBI “informed” all the major social media networks that the Hunter Biden laptop story was “misinformation” and Facebook, twitter, etc. fully complied.
Can I fully believe that the Fed is 100% non-partisan in their judgment to increase, keep or cut interest rates? I would like to. But considering what’s going on with major institutions of power and political influence I now tend to believe otherwise.
They did the same to HRC 11 days before election too!
You can do overtime calculations to account for volatility
But GDP is a productivity measure, not wage growth / demand. There are however 4 different ways the fed measures inflation and I believe 2 take that into account, just not then "headline" formula.
The relative Gross Domestic product of a country as a whole would be more strongly related to the value of that countries dollar than items that could be more easily traded for any currency.
So @drpepper12 I agree your correct they are different measurements. It is also true that it is possible for indiviual items to change in price for their own reasons. and inflation can be as localized as markets are in the short term. So its no ideal to take a short term or overly localized measure.
You’re finally getting tired of the Biden administration lying about inflation?
Biden admin doesn't measure inflation! The independent Fed does! But you knew that...
He keeps bragging he's bringing inflation down.
Where's the lie? Fed just reported drop and is planning a rate cut
So if you’re 200lbs, gain 20lbs in 2022, 15lbs, in 2023 and 7lbs in 2024 did you lose weight?
False analogy. Which measure of inflation? What region? Relative? Comparatively? Absolute?
The only people who can tame inflation are consumers and wage earners and corps
Not in the slightest bit false. Did you gain or lose weight in 2024?
