He wants me to be a lot more girly than I am. What am I supposed to do now?

My boyfriend and I got into the stupidist argument ever. He wants me to be a lot more girly than I am. He wants me to buy loads of clothes, bags, and other things. & he also wants me to buy not just any bag but a brand name (gucci, LV, etc). I honestly don't give a shit about that kind of thing. I don't wanna do what he tells me to but he's being very stubborn and I don't know what to do. He says I have no excuses, that I have money and I have a car to go buy things. He said that when some people see us together they go and tell him things like "why doesn't your girlfriend put lots of make up on?" / "why isn't she dressed better?" etc etc

Technically its not MY money, its my parents money and they're not going to give me the money to buy a really expensive bag or shoe or anything. What am I supposed to do now? Can I make him forget about all of this?

You should tell him you want him to change as well. Tell him people ask you when they see you together, "Why are with someone so feeble? Why isn't he more of a man?" Because if he chooses the opinion of others over what you want - he's a pu$$y.

I don't know why you love him, because he obviously doesn't love you. Love is about respect and acceptance. You being who you are should be enough - but instead he wants you to be someone else. I realize that you think time matters in staying in a relationship - but it doesn't. It doesn't matter how long you've guys been together - when he forget who you are because he wants you to be someone else - it's time to move on.

He doesn't love YOU - he loves whatever fake image he has of you in your head.

sounds like he has a fantasy women in mind and expects you to play the part.. you can Honestly say you are willing to be with someone who can't except you for who you are. You already said it. "You honestly don't give a sh*t about that kind of thing" so what the hell are you doing with him anyway. Now either you tell him you want him to change and here's how ( and than you tell him that includes respecting you for who you are and not having such unrealistic expections... wow I think you shouldn't change who you are just because some people don't like the way you dress.you can't spend money on things you don't want just to make him happy.he should love you lots more( especcailly since youve been together for two year ) to tell those people fuk off she the way she is and she's going to stay that way and he should also tell them that if they can't say nice comments they should keep them to them sefs.

Yeah it might be rough if you've been together for two years, but I can point to my different girlfriends and see how some always dressed up going out but another would always wear jeans and a t shirt.

I just accepted it and might've said a couple things to them but if that's not them then oh well. I'd say drop him if it continues to become an issue

Ask him to buy all that stuff for you. If he wants to change you let him pay for it. If not then tell him to shut up. That stuff is expensive and it's not fair to ask you to change. If he wanted a glam girlfriend he should have gotten one. He should accept you for the way you are, I'm sure there's nothing wrong with you. He sounds self conscious and insecure.

I agree with brr-2022; if he wants you to have it, then he can go out and buy it. As for not wearing so much make up or being dressed "better", you're beautiful NATURALLY. So he can shove it. He sounds like a jerk, and you deserve better. He will never find someone as great as you so just walk out the door and tell him he can stick that in his juice box and SUCK IT.

He'll see who broke he will be.If he really cared for you he would not ask you or tell you to change in any form or fashion! You may have money but spend it on what you want not what he want you too.
