Question for Leftists #3: Some Leftists claim that most Americans are stupid. But you run most of the education system. So who's at fault, then?

There's a reason why i assume that Leftists think Americans are stupid. When I watch entertainment sometimes, when I watch a YouTube video or a TV show, I often hear a snide comment about how the average American or Americans as a whole are morons. And people who entertain for a living (be they YouTubers or other social media influencers, or folks who write and produce movies and TV shows) seem to usually be Left-Leaning. So i just put 2 and 2 together. But I could be wrong.

Right wingers have been systematically underfunding public education for decades.

Everything in the education is local. So when you elect someone who actively sabotage their office and who campaigns on the whole system is a failure is just a local conman.

I've heard that argument before, or something like it. There are three views to this that I've heard: 1) In this country, schools and teachers are underpaid because ether our country doesn't value education that much, and/or because right-wingers block funding (this is basically your argument). 2) In contrast to the previous argument, the following argument is one I think I've heard a conservative give out before: schools DO receive a lot of funding, but it doesn't do anything. Because (this person argued), teachers (not all of them) are incompetent and/or lazy. And some conservatives argue that holding leftist views cause a teacher to become incompetent. 3) Conservatives often place a lot of value on homeschooling. Perhaps public schools are underfunded because right-wingers view that their money is better spent on private and/or Catholic/Christian schools, if not just on buying homeschool supplies. I'm not personally knowledgeable on the education system, so i don't have a right to form an opinion one way or the other. P. S.: Also, there's a fourth possibility: 4) The funds delivered to schools are somehow misused and/or not distributed properly (there's a story about an Illinois school worker named Vera Liddell who stole $1.5 million dollars worth of chicken wings. The meat was meant to be delivered to students learning from home during the pandemic. This could be an example of what I'm talking about).
