I think that you are 100% right with Maslow. Most people do not have a clue as to what it is. I had seen the pyramid years ago in High School in the 1960s and had forgotten about it. As you said we do not follow it and perhaps we should. because I have to say the general population is behind the eight ball without even common knowledge of all the points it makes life in general tough because of the lack of education. The major problem here is they see a problem and instead of fixing it they throw money at it and do not fix the problem. The people in charge just do not give teachers the education they need to teach properly and give them more so called responsibilities that have nothing to do with the teaching needed so the children can get ahead in life.

At one of my first jobs the provision of resources was so bad that we were allotted 4 reams of paper per 10 week quarter and a copier that was operational less than a McDonald's ice cream machine. We teachers all got together and we leased our own copier and because this was such an enlightened and grateful district, they wouldn't let the maintenance person that came with the least come and troubleshoot or repair it when needed because it was a "security issue".

Here in NYC, we get letters that your child my child needs to bring in a laundry list of products from crayons, pencils, pens tons of notebooks, looseleaf, masks, etc. What do they do to take the best from my child and give this best to illegals?
