Why do the white people who claim to be pro diversity run away from it?

Diversity to me (as a straight white guy) means everyone is included. Now what do I mean by that?
The country I know and love is a melting pot of cultures. Where Irish, Hispanic, Indian, European in general, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, etc. can meet and greet each other with a smile also share their cultures to each other too. Whether you are black, white, young, old, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Straight, Queer, whatever you are given a shot and a chance to do something incredible here. America is a melting pot which is diverse where no one gets left behind or at least should be that way….

Certain people see diversity as Anti-White, Anti-Straight, Anti-Conservative…. It is founded on hate while my beliefs are founded on love. Where even if we can’t see eye to eye on policy or whatever, doesn’t mean we can’t see eye to eye as American.
No matter what your background is or who you pray to or what you eat for dinner, you are American because you live here. That is the beauty of America to me, our diversity makes us strong.

I don't know to what you refer but in general diversity starts at pre school. You can't lightly require an adult who has never experienced anyone that thought differently from them to suddenly be inclusive. You can only realistically expect them to go through some of the motions. But the point in going through those motions is to give the appearance of inclusivity to onlookong children so that when they become adults they can mean it.

Of course there are also multiple layers of exclustion. A society that finally is inclusive of one thing isn't necessarily inclusive of everything. I suspect the final great layer we run into some 20 generations from now, that will ultimately decide if humanity can call itself civilized in any permanent sense, will be income. At the moment everything is already kind of excluded by income but we just call it different things. It's hard to know which is cause or effect.

Not true. 80 percent of my friends (and I have a small circle of friends? Lol) are non white. And I'm white. Lol. Only one of the other guys is pure white like me. the others are brown, and one Asian, technically two Asians, then another Asian and white guy who disappeared aka went their own paths in life, and another white guy I think became a tradesman and my group and me are still the remaining original group of friends - no were not the wolfpack of the hangover hahahahaha 🤣😆🤣😆 film 📽️🎥📽️

There's the idea/principle of something, and then there's putting it into practice. That difference is a cornerstone of liberal philosophy. We can all sing to the world and cast our judgements down upon people who heartless enough think that we need to turn away illegal immigrants, just so long as the immigrants aren't knowing on OUR door because somebody somewhere SHOULD be empathetic to those people. In principle, empathy is essential.

The problem is that empathy takes a lot resources.

Because you have a certain idea of how diversity should be accomplished, when you believe that diversity means everyone is together 24/7 then you're mistaken about what shapes reality. What shapes reality is political philosophy, urban management, economics and culture.

The concrete situation you describe is spatial segregation, aka diversity of people in the same town, segregated/divided into districts. A town viewed a a hub of blocks, connected but each block more or less hermetic. This is planned like this, by governments policies and philosophies, town planning notably, and people are expected to follow the plan.
