I'm indifferent to it, I see it being used anywhere, I say 'oh' and move on. My point is that I don't understand how anyone can get so outraged over something so insignificant.
6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I assume you are talking about people who want to be referred to as their opposite gender.
If I ever ran into someone who was obviously a man or a woman, and they insisted that I refer to them with pronouns that didn't match reality, I would refuse to acknowledge their entire existence.
People who wear their "preferred" pronouns on labels, or include them on emails, etc. in order to show solidarity with the LGBTQI+ community make me sick. I won't be friends with them.
I'm not on board with the militant LGBTQ agenda. I don't want aberrant, degenerate, ultra-sexualized, transvestite, trans-sexual, and bizarre perversions to be normalized or accepted by society. Those people need to stay in the closet. They are a danger to women and especially children.
I have no problem at all with normal, sane LGB people and have LGB friends. I even campaigned for gay marriage.
I knew a young trans-man. I played music with him before I even realized that was trans. The only outward sign is, he's really short for a guy. But he's totally cool. He's not a militant weirdo. I like him as a person.
I know a trans-women named Robin. He is still married to the same woman he was married to when he was a man. He apparently decided that he was a woman and transitioned later in life. She supported his decision.
He is low key and really cool. I treat him like a woman.
I understand that he realized that made a grievous mistake in transitioning. He has pain and medical problems, has to take drugs for the rest of his life, and realizes that transitioning didn't turn him into a woman as promised. Now he is neither man nor woman. He has been neutered.
I don't want to encourage children to make the same mistake. Trans-gender and trans-sexuality should NOT be promoted as normal and encouraged. It should be treated as a mental illness.26 Reply
Asker1 yIf you don't want to recognize a person the way they want want you to recognize them, isn't that selfish?

1 yI don't care about pronouns but if you make it a point to everyone then I generally assume certain other things about a person's character.
I will never sign off an email with a pronoun either as many feel obligated to in corporate America (I live in a liberal state, work in the liberal capital for a billion dollar company that loves ESG and dei panels).

1 yPeople that are insensitive to others have never been subjected to being mislabels. It’s annoying and racist when people assume that I am Japanese or Chinese. The same is true for pronouns. People that care about pronouns are understand that we have been taught certain pronouns and that mishaps happen. However what I take offense to is when people purposefully use the wrong pronoun just to annoy. More than anything it shows how bigoted they are, how resistant to change they are and more than anything how uncaring they can be to others.

Anonymous(25-29)1 yThis is highly exaggerated by the right. ONE time in my entire life have I heard someone in real life say something about pronouns. You'd think it's some huge problem the way they bring it up constantly. I can only imagine it's some kind of fearmongering by the media that convinces them it's all some huge threat to society. Or like today since there was another school shooting in Georgia, they need to use it as an imaginary problem to distract you from things that actually matter.

Asker1 yI know it's mostly online, these people are so detached from reality that it's just sad. Still, I just wanted to understand what the outrage was about.

1 yIt’s insecurity mainly. They are generally insecure in their sexuality that they can’t accept that someone else would feel so secure enough in theirs to choose a different pronouns.
bigotry and insecurity. Also their leaders have convinced them to stop paying attention to bettering themselves and have told them that all of their problems are other people’s fault, and it’s a lot easier to blame some group of others for your problems in life than it is to actually work towards bettering your own life.
so bigotry, insecurity, and laziness

u 1 yBecause they are snowflakes basically. They want to be offended by everything just to claim a win against the left. The left does it to the right too though. There is nothing wrong with using pronouns. They use them all the time. What they truly mean is that they don't want to use the correct pronouns for a person's gender identity just to spite them.
00 Reply 2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. You might think I am easily triggered. In reality I am not outraged but I do react Fuckwit! internally and I don't see why I should be expected to remember their made up pronouns.
Very entitled to expect me to work at it.04 Reply

No. It is just one case of many. The whole thing is FITH because they simply have different sexual orientations not genders. If you agree that it is genders than you have to have a 101 versions of the word 'blond' because it has a gendered ending. Men are blond and women are blonde.
in a language like French you need 101 other versions of la and le and then decide what inanimate object's new genders are. Clearly highly FITH.
The aren't enough letters in any case.
1.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. They are insensitive, insecure, egotistical and they don't want their self-made bubbles to burst. It doesn't take ANY effort to use a pronoun that the other person feels comfortable with and identifies with.

Some people cannot take the fact you might get misgendered in your life. Only those who take offense want to throw hands or can't understand the fact.

Asker1 yThe word 'dude' was made by the liberals in the 60s, now everyone uses it. Language is always evolving dude.
- 1 y
False. Dude comes from a reference to the American Yankee Doodle in the 1800s.
www.bing.com/search
But to your point; the word dude has never been used to describe anything that was fundamentally different from the original intended meaning.
Asker1 yGood to know, but my point still stands. Languages are changing every decade or so, if you don't see that, then that's on you.
- 1 y
My point isn't that language doesn't change. My point is the degree of the change. The essential meaning of words does not fundamentally shift in the way you all are trying to shift it.
Asker1 yWhat am I shifting?

Isn't your argument that people shouldn't be worried/annoyed by the use of pronouns to accommodate the transgender movement?
Asker1 yI'm not talking about any movement
