Why do words offend and mess with people's feelings?

It seems that people's feelings get hurt for hearing words and if you think of it, certain words and sentences are made to hurt and are made to insult another person, but why does it work? Is it cause you know that their intentions are to disrespect you? Maybe if you call someone a coconut they won't get offended unless maybe you say it aggressively like "COCONUT !😡"

then they will be like I'm not a coconut 😡👉🏽

Its the way you say it and the word, or maybe just the way you say it 🤔

words are energy and we have learned what has deep meaning formed in our emotions. If it creates shame and fear, they are strong words... in energy.

That means nothing. But if you learned it as a kid as a negative that death was coming soon, it be terrifying. If you learned it mean you were going to get an amazing dessert, it be a delight.

Words get associations... and they are emotional. I don't recall the base emotions humans learn but it's real simple and we build ontop of that.

Since we are animals, emotion sent and received plays a huge part in communication. No matter the words.

Since we carry a conscience, memory and a complex psychological system within, related to language, then words themselves will trigger unexpected reactions. Even internally, from our own words. Usually because any person may have a personal connection to this word or this one. That connection may be intense, either positive or negative 🙂

Words can cut and last in our memories forever; a physical wound heals, but a wound from a word... not so much unless they are willing to heal, and a lot of us live in the past; it's not easy to let go for some of us.

It's important, but when someone is hurting, they might hurt someone. As the saying goes, hurt people hurt people. I'm trying to not allow my emotions to cloud me in the sense that if I snap, I should think before I let out venomous words.

That's true, actually even if someone uses bad words, for the most part if they have to use insulting words to get their point across it might show that they are less intelligent or less mature
