Those who oppose second amendment guarantees don't think. They don't research. They are guided by easily manipulated emotion, not logic.

I support 2nd amendment rights.
- I do think "instant" background checks are a good idea. How else can we avoid selling to criminals?
- I'm opposed to registration. What's the purpose of that? It goes along with the globalists plans to track and trace everyone 24/7 and keep every bit of data on them. I'm not ready for that dystopian nightmare.
- I think it's good that machine guns and explosives are not available to the public.
But I will never concede to banning semiautomatic firearms. It's an old technology and it only makes sense that a gun can cock itself. Gun designs have improved in recent years and accessories have become more ergonomic and versatile. But they still fire one shot per trigger pull, just like the popular Winchester 1903 (made in 1903). Same principle.

There is no evidence that more guns = more gun violence.

The thing is, there are thousands of gun laws. The Gun Control propagandists act like we don't have any. They keep pushing for more and more legislation no matter how many laws are already on the books. The idea of compromising with them is absurd because they will never be satisfied.

The Gun Control Lobby's goal is not to save lives. It is to limit the general public's ability to own firearms to the greatest extent possible. The globalists who are determined to create a technocratic, totalitarian New World Order can't risk armed citizens.

Gun homicides rose from between 14,000 and 16,000 to slightly over 20,000 annually around the time of the covid mandates. But even at 14,000, gun control propagandists acted like it was a crisis.

To put 20,000 in perspective, about 40,000 people die each year from accidental falls, also from accidental poisoning, also from highway accidents.

The FBI says that 80% of gun homicides are gang related. That means that out of over 80 million non-gang affiliated gun owners, there are 4,000 gun homicides out of a population of 330 million citizens and around 450 million people in the country at any one time.

Gun Control proponents ignore instances of defensive gun use (DGU). Instead, they claim that owning a gun puts a person in greater danger.

However, the most conservative estimates of DGU are 150,000 per year, and high-ranging estimates are upwards of 3.5 million. At one time, the DOJ used to estimate it at 1.5 million before that became politically incorrect.
But just take the low estimate of 150,000 and compare that to 20,000 total unjustified homicides.
How many instances of DGU prevented rape, robbery, serious injury, trauma and murder?

1) Do gangs and drug dealers buy guns legally or obey laws? Would they be effected by laws that are targeted at honest people?
2) How do we end gang violence?
3) Is it worth abolishing second amendment guarantees for every single living and future citizen because of 20,000 annual homicides?
4) What about homicides by other means besides guns - fists, knives, blunt objects, bombs?
5) Should people be criminalized for defending themselves?
6) Do we ignore the strongly held values of over 1/3 of the entire population?
7) Is there any guarantee that lives would be saved by abolishing second amendment guarantees? Can anyone say how many lives would be saved?
8) What about hunting and survival if the entire grid does down for an extended period of time, or there is a complete breakdown in society, or there is a coup d'etat and a violent dictatorship takes over at some time in the future.

I'm sorry, but I'm not influenced by the elites like Michael Bloomberg who have been pushing gun control" by hook or by crook for decades. They don't care about the suffering of commoners. That is not their motivation. And would any laws apply to them?

I'm not influenced by the corrupt UN or evil WEF and globalists who want to disarm Americans so that they can bring about a CCP-form of global governance.

Besides, when Gun Control organizations talk about "mass shootings" they have ways of inflating numbers and making it sound like they are common and on the increase. Their stock in trade is fear porn and spin.

Focusing on the AR-15 style platform is a red herring. "Oo, they look scary!" "If it looks like a machine gun, it must be a machine gun." It's the tactic for terrorizing people who know nothing about guns to support banning one semiautomatic design in order to set a legal precedent for banning more semiautomatics.

And unrealistic action movies increase idiot's perceptions that machine guns are everywhere.

All long guns (all types of rifles and shotguns) combined account for less than 9% of all firearm homicides, and so-called "assault rifles" (semiautomatic rifles) are a subset of that.

So, out of the current 4,000 or so non-gang related homicides, maybe 4% (160 or so) are committed with "assault rifles".

But those small caliber semiautomatic rifles are also the most popular style for hunting. They are even designated sporting rifles by the ATF. And they are useful for self defense. There are lots of examples of that. Jewelry store owners driving off armed robbers, single mothers fending off bands of home invaders, etc.
