It's just a thought. Im not talking about the victims being a part of it. But it just seems like there's a mass shooting all the time. Would it be far fetched to think the government pays or gives people deals in exchange for their service basically to go out and kill a bunch of helpless people? The more and more this happen a lot of people will push back against the 2nd amendment. Since the government can't just outright ban guns without a cause
No- if nothing else, then because the proportion of crazies who'd be more willing to go out and shoot a bunch of random people if paid is WAY lower than the proportion of crazies who'd go on the talk show circuit to talk about how the government offered to pay them to go out and shoot a bunch of random people.
Mass shootings happen mostly because an individual is driven to absolute extremes of stress, has no viable outlets for their anxiety and anger, and feels wholly rejected by the world- they see themselves as having nothing to lose. Addressing those problems would require making some major social and economic changes, and few people- of ANY stripe- are willing to even consider doing so.
Claiming that law-abiding gun owners should suffer (and by extension, law-abiding non-gun owners should suffer) because of the actions of evil shooters is like saying that we all need to give up our cars because of drunk drivers. Congress knows this, and so makes periodic idle threats to that effect, to stir up public controversy and divert notice from the nastier crap they're doing.
They don't create the crises (not directly, anyway); they just profit from them. Like with Covid.

No, I don't believe that. What I do believe is we have a lot of mentally unstable and disturbed individuals who not only have access to firearms, but are in turn acting out as a way to gain recognition and a level of recognition they crave because they won't amount to anything or want to have a level of power and control that they feel they lack.
I wrote a myTake about it here on what I believe is the cause of it. Mental illness and a trend that acts similar to social media and appeals to younger individuals to have fame and do better than the last jackoff who went on a killing spree.
I don’t think anyone can point to a piece of evidence that the government was behind any mass shooting. Where would you even find people willing to commit murder, then give up their freedom or their own life afterwards just to help the government? It’s extremely far-fetched when you think about it. This country is full of dumbasses who aren’t stable enough to live among the rest of us and have no business ever handling a gun. That’s the truth.
99.9% of mass shootings are carried out by people who have far right and grumble about the guberment gonna take away ma gun.
They're hardly the type to get in bed with the government on gun control.

People have been killing the powers at be for as long as history has writing. It's only in the very modern era they become untouchable. From the jfk assassination created the "the beast" president tank looking like limo.
Can't hit the quality target you make up for with quantity. We are just lambs to the slaughter for protecting the privileges of the powerful.
Of course! And these lizard-people-gone-government-killer are deployed secretly by black helicopters running in silent mode! We need to watch out! :-o
no, they don't have to, people will do it anyways until it happens to the wrong person or right even... that pushes the legislation. then they can steal all your money when people are disarmed.
I don't think so, but they do fail to put into play policies which would deter mass shootings. An example is "gun free zones" which become targets for crime.
No possible way such a large conspiricy could work.
I dont think mass shootings but I think some shootings yes. Some agents are payed by the government to kill people. Something to stay away from obviously.. The less we know the better
Oh, please stop.
