I'm an economics and tax expert and I can tell you with certainty she has the most insane policy ideas about the economy that I've ever heard.

One of the worst has to be a tax on unrealized capital gains.

This is beyond insane.

So I bought my house 25 years ago and it's worth twice what it was when I bought it.

She wants me to pay tax on the increase every year. So the first year I would have to pay tax on the entire increase since I bought it. And then pay tax every year on any further increases in value.

I can't even begin to tell you what an insane idea that is.

But I can tell you one of the problems.

40% of that increase is not a gain, it's the inflation that happened over the last 25 years. So I didn't gain anything from 40% of that price increase.

This would totally destroy the economy overnight. It's the most ridiculous proposal I've ever seen.

The stock market would crash on day one and we would soon be looking back on the good old days of the 1929 depression.
