    To be perfectly honest,

    He is right.

Not in the way you think though…

So, you have a Convicted Felon who is guilty of lying to the banks via falsifying business records so, he could cheat with his attorneys listing the reimbursement as a ‘legal expense’ meant to be submitted to Trump Organization then sent out wire transfer to Stormy Daniels. We know this because Michael Cohen went to prison for his involvement after being found guilty then Donald J. Trump himself was later found GUILTY on ALL 34 Felony Counts of Falsifying Business Records. He was found civilly liable for raping E Jean Carroll, had to pay back $25 million to Trump University Scam Victims, Stole 300+ Classified Documents from his time in the Oval Office, tried to overturn the election with a failed coup attempt, etc. Continued controversial autonomous drone attacks overseas, countless deaths during a global health crisis, removed 200+ environmental restrictions from Obama Era, Maternal Deaths Increased In Red States after rejection of Roe V. Wade also women couldn’t get miscarriages removed from their body due to doctors afraid of going to prison, Saudi backed Golf Tournament Deal from his time in office, Charged World Leaders at the Trump Tower $100k a night, Charged Secret Service Members, etc.

Now Kamala Harris, there is a controversial history of her being a tough on crime Prosecutor being ruthless…..

So yeah vote for the lesser of two evils. Have fun! 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I think there's a reason for the separation of church and state. Theocracies seem pretty dismal, like I don't want to vacation or live anywhere ruled by Sharia law. The Vatican also doesn't seem appealing after you go on a tour of it for like 2 days.

On the other hand the church will weigh in globally on a lot of elections as publicly the land they own around the world would clump together to be around the size of Texas. I think of the Catholic church as a business with weird employee policies and it makes more sense than thinking of it as a religion.

Well which does he consider the lesser evil? Does American politics really boil down to having abortions or mass exportation?

My view of the Right wing is they just seem to be opposed to the existence of any group whose different to them. The left just seem to be selling themselves as not being Trump.

Perhaps the Pope should be asking why politics is more about whipping up hatred than finding solutions. If you want to prevent abortion then make contraception cheaper/free and promote sex education. Good idea not to rape either and best lay off the incest.

If you want to kerb migration improve trade links with these countries and put diplomatic pressure on their governments to sort their shit out. Educate and train your people so they don't have to worry about being outcompeted by a Mexican who barely speaks English and has no checkable work record.,

You would get that impression of your politician enemies given the propaganda about them you consume. Why don't you try listening to their point of view of their own opinion, rather their enemies.

Poppy, you are right about the Right Wing. As for the Leftists, we don't like our rights taken away, not our democracy threatened in any way. The Pope really has no say in politics, just about bringing peace to the world. As for those Mexicans who are fighting to come here--they must be very desperate to want to come to a country where shootings happen all of the time and it doesn't appear safe in many areas. Granted, Mexico can be just as dangerous, but you don't hear about school shootings happening there at all--nor fights with with people defending their so-called gun rights. Still, they come in the hopes for a better life than what they have there. Ironically--we are the migrants to this country when we invaded those Native Americans (and Mexicans who owned Texas, and part of California already) took away their land, practically killed them all off, and sickened them with diseases brought from Europe.

I think foreign leaders should stay out of American politics! (yes, Vatican city is a sovereign nation with embassies all over the world, and representation in the UN) We have separation of church and state for a reason, so I don't care what he says. However, that being said he’s not exactly wrong on that at this point, with RFKJ out!

Then your individual wisdom might render you blind to the responsibilities of an authority.

An authority has to spread a simple message, looking like a platitude, because they are facing a wide array of unknown people, from the simple minds to the more elaborated ones.

These false religions continue to meddle in politics, as they have done for years.

In the Bible, they are depicted as a prostitute. She exerts influence “over the kings of the earth.” She dresses in purple, uses incense, and is exceedingly wealthy.

She straddles the back of a wild beast, attempting to influence its decisions and to control its direction.

The beast that the prostitute rides pictures the world’s political powers.

Soon though, an amazing event will take place. “And the ten horns that you saw and the wild beast, these will hate the prostitute and will make her devastated and naked, and they will eat up her flesh and completely burn her with fire.”(Revelation 17:16)

In a sudden, shocking move, the world’s political powers will turn on false religion and completely destroy her!

What will prompt this action? The Bible book of Revelation answers: “God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought.” (Revelation 17:17)

God will call false religion to account for all the despicable acts she has committed in his name.

Wow. I never thought I'd hear him use such pointed, direct, and harsh language on abortion. And against a US Democrat, no less (Pope Francis is very much a man of the left). But credit where it's due!

Abortion is intrinsically evil. It is the direct and intentional killing of an unborn child in the place where he or she ought to be most protected and nurtured. Immigration is a different matter entirely. The Fourth Commandment commands us to honor our fathers and mothers and by extension, lawful authority. As such, the Catholic Church also teaches that nations have the right and responsibility to make and enforce laws. And like it or not, that applies to Immigrants as well. If a nation's law says "you have to do x, y, and z if you want to be here", then they have to do it.

So to a well-formed Catholic conscience, the "lesser of two evils" shouldn't be that hard to determine.

Also, you have to consider the fact that there has been a lot of crime, drugs, and human trafficking tied to the massive influx of immigrants. They're not all helpless victims or however they're portrayed.

I'm all for doing things to make more people want to come here for work, family, school, or other opportunities, but you have to work to stop the criminals, drug networks, gangs, and terrorists from coming in.

Not sure how breaking commandment #5 killing the innocent is a lesser evil than the arguably unrelated passages in the bible about the equal and charitable treatment of foreigners.
Passages which compare foreigners to the fatherless and widows in the context of providing charity. (remember in this periods your family was everything)

This immigration interpretation is even more confusion in the few passages which reference the fact that Jews were foreigners in Egypt as they did in fact leave, reinforcing the fact that they were not immigrants.

He's not wrong, both are evil. If someone put a gun to my head and forced me to vote for one of them, it would be Trump, because Harris is an absolute moron with a proven track record and would be a horrible POTUS. She was only chosen as Biden's running mate because she's a woman and she's black.

Absent that gun, I will be voting independent in November because I couldn't look in the mirror if I voted for either of the two.

There is no lesser evil just a misanthropic tribe that controls both of them. Pope knows that, because inquisition in Spain happened because church recognized subversion of some specific minority and rooted out the "devil".

@Cubus Trump says it all the time, it doesn't matter if it is in the platform. Indeed the platform of a political party is traditionally an afterthought compared to what the candidates themselfs say they support.

The reason for this is platforms are general agreements among the party, whereas the candidates word is their specific views on the issue which is what they are willing to do.

He didn't specify which he considers a lesser evil so this is worthless.

He might as well just have told people to vote well.

Well , Georgy Porgy abhors abortion, but likely views Harris as less unpalatable (if such a word exists) than Trump.

    He's a bad pope.

Catholicism needs another Pope John Paul II desperately.

So as I understand your logic or actually your lack of logic, anybody that disagrees with you or your politics is automatically bad, correct?

@msc545 he's going against basically any traditions of Catholicism and the reality of the contributions it had in the Europe by not preserving it. The Catholic Church shouldn't be welcoming gays or any other religions to merely cater to what's now politically acceptable and ignoring thousands of years of history.

I'm guessing since you're a liberal you are some I know everything atheist. No not everyone who disagrees with me is bad, I have many conversations with those who oppose my views. Yet here you are commenting and contributing what exactly?

I am commenting that I find his recent advice completely reasonable and appropriate. If you don't, this is probably because you have some other unspoken views. Care to share those?

I normally disagree with everything this white-costumed creep says, but, on voting for the "lesser evil", I have to agree

The Pope should mind his own business.

His business is about being a moral authority for his catholic audience. I have reasons to believe that catholics do exist in USA, despite the huge amount of protestants. Are you protesting? 😆

For someone living in the US you seem particularly opposed to freedom of speech. And also worried about using this freedom, don't worry so much, you can use the right word: illegal immigration.

See I said it, no one has arrested me. Not even Mulder nor Scully.

The Pope didn't say that. Drop your obsession with non-existent immigrants for a moment and THINK.

@msc545 So over 15 million illegal aliens are just a figment of our imagination? There are veterans ther were living in a hotel less than 5 miles from my house that would differ with you. Yhey had been living there several years and were evicted in 2023 because the state took over the whole place to let illegal aliens live there

Since you constantly want to talk about aliens instead of immigration, then maybe music will help lol?
