Am I guilty of raccoon abuse?

Years ago, I heard on the news that school districts in California were banning teachers from using red ink to grade tests/homework of the students. They said the red ink traumatized the students.

So fast forward years later. I have many close friends that are coons. I know that deep down they are mostly using me for my peanut butter, but it's OK. (They don't know it, but I only buy the cheap shit)

It's not just kittens that like these laser pointers, it's also "kits." So after my kits' bellies were full it was time to play. My laser wore out, so I set out to fetch another one.

How hard can it be to find a laser pointer at a giant pet store? I finally asked an employee for help. He explained that they're no longer selling them. I asked him why. He said it's not fair to the cat, because they never really win the game. (It must be quite traumatic for kittens and kits)

A nurse once told me that all the hand sanitizer used during Covid, is actually a bad thing. A little adversity makes us stronger.

You aren't supposed to trick Kats with red pointers.
Because it effects their mental health as they don't get the satisfaction of catching the prey.
Racoons though? They aren't really predators in the first place, they don't typically hunt therefore I would assume it's different for them. Kats get frustrated and self conscious because they're designed to catch while Racoons are not so I don't know.
