Why do murderers, child molesters, and the absolute worst criminals get love letters in prison?

I just don't understand, what kind of sick freak wants the worst and most evil prisoners. Seriously convicted serial killers, child molesters, rapists and so on get a constant stream of love letters, nudes, and lots of other things.

I am going to add a little gas on the fire. When I was in the 7th grade I had a friend who was babysitting and a 17 year old kid randomly broke into the house she was at (I’m going to skip a lot of the details) and killed her and then raped her body. He was originally sentenced to sixty something years. About a decade later he got his sentence reduced and cut in half. Not cool. But just to top it off, a bill passed and since he was 17 at the time they now charged him as a minor instead of an adult. He ends up marrying a correctional officer while incarcerated and he got released earlier this year. He just gets to live his life now like nothing happened.

Some studies say it's escapism, control because they control if they choose to strike up a pen pal or not ✉️💌 until mail ever goes the way of the telegraph or steam train - google says there's many studies that say such people who write lead boring lives and so it's a escapism or a thrill on the edge to write to someone so edgy in controlled settings supposedly aka - they only write back - yet if you ask me it's always risky what if the person is ever released someday or maybe it's because they won't ever be with life sentences that the women especially don't mind lol writing to such convicted men

Yes, similar to God, somethings we’ll never fully comprehend. My 17yr old daughter asked me all the time…”why would someone do this or that.” And I tell her, as a relatively normal person you never will. Drives her mad as she wants so desperately to understand.
