I´d go with yes but to clarify I would say what has to be redefined and what´s redefined by different generations is the practice of how to be a man and less the question who is a man. It´s the behaviors and manners of how a man works and lives, what´s supposed to be manly behavior and what isn´t that changes over time. That being said there´s less of a need to redefine who is a man.

It's always changing. In Ancient Greece a small penis was masculine being smart and logical being. Compared to animals and barbarism.

In medieval era men were extremely flamboyant showing off wealth. wigs, Heels, satin fabric of vibrant colors.

Some tribes as a Wright of passage to being a man is getting cutting basically the whole body then the scars look like crocodile scales.
