Then that would be rather unproductive, unless their mother was known for never crying. Changing her wardrobe or restyling her hair would probably be better options.

Because if she her biological mom she gave birth to her. And even if she didn't she still feeds her and takes care of her. There are few people in this world who are going to love you unconditionally. Generally your mom is one of those people.
