Some people think there is a huge double standard between older men and women having sex with young people, but in my experience, most people just don't care enough to get involved or do anything, they just complain or judge and it's mostly behind the doors.

You have a female account... you and I could test this. We could both post a question like, "I just had sex with a 17-year-old, how should I feel?" at the same time, and then we can see which one of us get the death threats and the outlandish outrage and which of us gets told how much they wish they were that 17-year-old. We don't have to test that though... we know what the results would be.

The double standard is real... if it's overexaggerated or not is subjective. I mean most of the people that would want to rip me a new asshole open for having sex with a 17-year-old, are also the people that defends the movie "Cuties" on Netflix. ... so with all that said.

I would go as far as to call it "faux outrage" which describes an emotion that is not genuine, but intended to create a certain effect. I'm not dismissing the sentiment of all people... but the retards that want to flip out while 16 is legal in their country should shut the fuck up. People trying to judge a 80 year old chick gobbling down on two 20-year-old's cocks also should shut the fuck up. It's faux outrage. Ah... I think I'm with you on this one. They don't seem to really care... the outrage we do see is basically performative outrage. ... and then like you said... the double standard becomes moot.

Where I think we would have any point of contention is the differences in the gender standards... but even that feels moot because it's so fake if I just switch the gender on these people.

There will always be double standards and hypocrisy to relationships. You have just highlighted a small problem when comes to relationships and dating.

Well if both people are consenting adults, then at the end of the day it's nobody else's business really, so hence in general people don't really care, because there isn't any point. You can't do anything about it. Although I definitely see more shame towards old men with younger girls than vice versa. Regardless, in general it doesn't really matter, at least not in my opinion as long as it's two consenting adults.
