The Royal New Zealand Navy made some DEI hires for warship captains.
One of the successful candidates had spent quite a long time working in a shore based job for the Royal Navy and was snapped up when she said she always wanted to drive a warship. That might have been a harbinger of disaster because even though it might be a motor vessel you don't drive ships.
Anyway the DEI lesbian captain drove the ship onto a Samoan reef it was meant to be surveying. Fortunately the crew got off safely before the ship sank. This is the first naval loss NZ has had since WW2.
The female defence minister says it was a triumph and accused taxpayers of misogyny for complaining at the $150 mil loss over bad seawomanship. The somewhat hen pecked looking male rear admiral muttered agreement.
Meanwhile another DEI lady captain drove her ship into a berth giving it a nasty gash and a big repair bill.
I'm not sure. Do you think DEI lady captains can work out in the end? More details in the link if you can handle a Kiwi accent.

I heard about this on FOX. 🦊
This is also happening in medical schools.
Oh no! Not DEI surgeons I hope?
As it turns out this seems to have been only the third HMNZS ship that has been sunk. There were only two in WW2 that I have found. Quite a number got roughed up bad; particularly by the Graf Spree but not to the point of sinking despite going through WW1 & 2.
So quite the achievement by DEI Yvonne, as Defence Minister Judith Collins claims.
Samoa is really pissed as Judith Collins won't apologize cause it is some else's job to apologize.
Seems to be happening everywhere. Except maybe China. Lol.
The Air Force says women are better pilots than men
This very well might be true, but before they put you in a $200 million fighter jet, you best first prove you can fly it.
@saraupstairs true
Interesting possibly because a quality needed is to multi-task an female brains are bettered structured for that.
Seawomanship doesn't seem to to be up to scratch wrt seamanship however..
@Jennz6
I’ve helped my uncle out a few times at a charity event, and we ran the shooting range. It was mostly kids shooting, but every now and then there were competition shooters. One notable competition was a brother and sister competing. They were both amazing shooters, but that sista must have been some kind of savant. She could shoot the rectum out of a mosquito. Meritocracy is what we should all strive for. Fuck all of this liberal DEI shit. When I’m in a pickle, and my life is on the line, I don’t want that DEI Secret Service bitch that didn’t know how to holster her weapon. I want John Fuckin’ Wick to swoop in and “fix” it. 🙂
@RavVid
Your comment about “seamanship” reminded me of a funny double entendre that you can use.
Rav: I can’t believe these stupid conservatives.
Sally: What?
Rav: They don’t want women in the navy.
Sally: Why?
Rav: Oh, it’s some stupid shit about how nothing good comes from mixing women and seamen. What do you think?
@saraupstairs It is funny. :) Of course women on ships have long been thought unlucky, possibly due to nothing good coming from mixing women and seaman.
Yvonne originally trained as a teacher but couldn't get a job in it and because she liked cooking hoped to open a restaurant and only joined the RN to get the money for that.
Since she ran onto a known coral reef in light winds without attempting to drop the anchor, it might have been better if she stuck to the galley and cooking for the seamen.
There are a lot of Kiwis in Australia. They're gonna get tired of the jokes we'll be making.
You're doing your part,, an that's all you can do.
