in terms of nobody cares about you or me, its very true. In terms of certain topics or aspects of life, everyone has their own issues that they care about.

Someone might care about the issue of someone's virginity etc, but you don't care about that issue, so you might say nobody cares. When in fact, its just you that doesn't care. Your spouting biased a opinion on subject.

Sometimes people say things, without realising what they are saying or actually not understanding what they are saying.
