Now, first I realize it's VITALLY IMPORTANT that troops get news from home - it makes them less homesick and provides a sense of normalcy when you hear the Yankees collapsed in 5 games (Let's Go Mets)!

But should they be getting news from a network where the following happened:

The decision specifically references Fox News prime-time hosts Laura Ingraham, Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity, each of whom was accused in recent court filings of knowingly spreading Donald Trump's false claims of 2020 election fraud.

So, should troops be watching "entertainment" as news? Purveyors of false claims, lies, misinfo & disinfo per the courts?

My Opinion.

No news channels of any kind, there should be a press summarizing news team on the base. Basically sharing the news back home in a non biased way, No Fox News or OANN or MSNBC or Newsmax or CNN or whatever…. My debate class had a similar setup where two individuals would share highlights of the newscycle per day with some insight then we would discuss the news on a surface level though I do believe in this case a deeper level should be discussed to get the full picture of a certain topic.

I think a better question is do you believe our troops overseas are reasonable enough to know that a lot of news outlets spread misinformation for ratings’ sake? If no, then I can see how an argument would be made for a ban, but at the same time if they’re that mindless, why are they fighting for our nation? Shouldn’t we have capable soldiers?

As someone who lives on a military base like please just no I don't wanna see that shit. Military spouses and some soldiers are acutally advised to completely ignore all news because they often spread false info and cause unnecessary stress
