Older women fought in our past to have their abortion rights. They aren’t gonna let Trump back in to take them away federally! Your thoughts?

I've been seeing older women posting comments like these everywhere on social media! They are very very concerned their daughters grand daughter and great grand daughters may have less rights then they did, and many do not currently!. Some of them even took to the streets to fight in order to get autonomy over their bodies before winning that fight with Roe V Wade. They do NOT want Trump back in office who has signaled he will make the abortion ban national. Lets not make their sacrifice for us be in vain!

And even if it was just a states issue if you live in a state like sayy Texas and you're poor... good luck moving to a state where its still legal to get it done. This hurts the poor more than any other class!

The GOP wanted it to be state's issue, because they believed most states would make it illegal. The fact is that most citizens don't want it to be illegal. Any time abortion bans have been on the ballot (even in deep red states) the vote removes the ban. This is what the GOP didn't want. They now want another case to come up to their conservative SCOTUS, to make abortion a national issue again and make it illegal. We can see this by Clarence Thomas's opinion on the case that overturned Roe v. Wade. He wanted to go after birth control next. If he knew that most voters did not want Roe v. Wade overturned, he'd have not agreed to make it a state's issue.

I really struggle with the whole abortion rights issue. On a personal level, I do believe life begins at conception. And I think women need to avoid using abortion as birth control. It is not something you want to be doing to your body unless it is absolutely necessary, just from a health and fertility standpoint. However, if it is not MY body, it is none of my business. I will follow my beliefs and leave it to others to follow theirs. Abortion as a medical necessity is a whole other issue and needs to be left to the woman and her doctor to decide. In no case do I believe the government should be getting involved.

I understand but if you want less abortions I advocate that you instead vote for policies that improves things to where women don’t have to resort to making that choice. Higher wages, lower inflation, combating crony capitalism etc.

It should still be legal just in case but we can do things that help them out. And don’t believe any of the idiots on here saying women enjoy aborting their babies. I don’t know any woman who does enjoy that.

I don't know why people keep thinking girls use it as a form of birth control. They don't, at least as a whole. Less than 1 in 1000 would ever consider it that way. A girl my dad knew got her tubes tied and still got pregnant. She got an abortion. She went through sterilization to avoid pregnancy and still got pregnant; I think you can agree that getting an abortion in her case was a good idea. Unlike a vasectomy, female sterilization cannot be reversed.
