REAL chartered organizations, bands, charities, volunteer, coaching, mentor, colleges, frats/sorority institutions and clubs - Not the mile high club!

Would you look differently at an organization that would or wouldn't have you as a member?

Yes, I have been in a Frat, military, a very select business/political/social group.

The hardest to get into was the very select business/political/social group. It was very connected and powerful. It was extremely hard to get into and they had quite the vetting process.

It was also left leaning and was supposed to help people but they were really just making connections and helping themselves. It is not a group you resign from as once a member always a member but I simply stopped participating in it.

I was in a band, in my late teens/earlier 20's

I did volunteer for charities, coaching, and tutoring, mentoring and alike

but I don't think I would look at them differently if it were different, not sure why I would do that, lol

My mom, along with her siblings and my maternal grandparents, are all members of Mensa — the society you can only join by meeting a certain IQ number. Basically their definition of a “genius” or whatever. My mom says it’s a club full of pretentious a-holes who like to hold themselves as above it all when it’s an extremely simple test.

Mountain biking club. I've never done it, and I think it would be fun. I'm researching bikes right now. :)

A hospice organization or hospital fundraising group.

I don't like organizations that are only social groups. I like to get stuff done, and working with others tells me a lot about what they value and their work ethic.

I used to be a member of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) but this was 30+ years ago.

I relate more to unregistered organizations in general, I have been following registered organizations a little, without going into membership really.

I am not a joiner. I am really not interested. One of my friends has been after me to join the Elks and I have been asked to join the Sons of Italy. I am just not interested in it.

My mom wants me to join the Junior League after college, but I’m not sure I want to. She’s a member, so I’m pretty sure I’d get in.
