The Electoral College system we have is not perfect. However, it does what it is supposed to do. It more fairly spreads out the influence of each citizen in the election process.
More fairly? Look at how many of the fifty states. 40 states can't be controlled by ten!
I found it very Interesting how different the individual states are. There are adjacent states like Texas and new Mexico that voted differently. The fact Californiaa d New York are firmly democrat and aloat the entire ibtwriir ofcthe ciuntry are Republcan illustrates we are still a nation of states.
*interior of the country.
I understand.
There is a show called Route 66 that was made in the 50s and 60s on one of the rerun channels. It is about 2 guys in a Corvette that travel around the country. It was sort of amazing how different the states were from each other. They were in New Orleans and there was a n entirely different culture than there was in New York. I think the nation is more homogenized 50 years later. We have the same fast food restaurants, watch the same TV shows, get the same stuff off the internet and watch the same sporting events. Maybe we are not as homogenized as I thought.
