It's wrong to say most white people hate gingers, very very few do. However if you look at a map where red heads are found the highest numbers are in Scotland Ireland wales and Brittany.
Scotland Ireland and Wales have long been troublesome to the English and i think Brittany has historically been pain to France. It's likely that in the past it was an easy way to spot an enemy in your midst and the reputation just stuck

I remember two crazy red head twins in preschool at like 3-4 years old that use to bite each other until they bled because they were constantly enraged like little Chucky dolls and apparently cannibals from the looks of it. They were always fighting each other to the death. The supervisor of the preschool use to take them to the office and call their parents in and then stick them on the other side of the fence from all the other kids in the playground. It was like they were placed in the UFC octagon. They would be told to sit on the bench. The teacher would tell them to stay still and scold them. Are you ready? Are your ready... now stay still while I call your parents, door slams closed. Lets get it on! Then they would brutalize each other and everyone would be watching through the fence like holly shit these bastards are crazy as hell. Other than that, every other redhead I've met in my life has been pretty normal.
