The election is over and I have not seen any rioting. Not in person and not in the news. There probably is some minor rioting in some places, but no killing and destruction like when Trump was defeated. January 6th was an example of huge rioting and lying. And that was orchestrated by Trump. He also refused to do a peaceful transition of the government functions. Kamala has told her people to help make the transition peaceful and is offering her help in making it so. It is not the liberals who riot and perform deranged stupidity.

The summer of 2020 unrest was caused by the murder of George Floyd by the police. A good reason for that unrest. The attacks on America by Trump in refusing to accept the vote of Americans was far worse, and because it was caused by a president of America commanded the massive attention of Americans.

I didn’t believe the 2020 election was stolen. That said, now I look at the number of people that voted and I wonder about the mail in ballots and how easy it could be.

This election the republicans were watching like a hawk and had lawsuits primed and ready to go if they saw cheating. Indeed, there were thousands of registrations that were caught that were fake, all created by the same person using the same pen. These would have become fake ballots once the registrations were accepted.

Then a Chinese woman, a student in Michigan, showed that she could vote. They only found out when she asked for her ballot back after it was tabulated in the machine. This also causes great concern.

We need better voting rules. Make it tougher to get a mail in ballot and make everyone show their valid ID before their ballot is put into the machine.

This debate is not over, not by a long shot. That's especially true about the mass mail-in ballots which should not be done. Even the panel led by ex-Democrat president Jimmy Carter recommended against mail-in ballots. They are inherently problematic.

Using mail in ballots for a special purpose has always been done. That is an entirely different thing than using them for the general population.

The old way of election lines was more time consuming, harder on voters, and more problematic for having a fair election. Most obvious is gerrymandering, which is manipulating the boundaries in favor of one party or class. That can still happen, but mail in voting means that the people all have equal access to voting since they do not need to travel to a polling place. It also means that they do not need to take ridiculous amounts of time off from work to stand in long lines, sometimes in terrible weather. Using vote by mail means the ballots are verified by signature which can be done automatically by computer before the envelope is opened. This allows jurisdictions to send the received ballots to a facility with the computing power to handle all the envelopes, then returned (securely) to the originating jurisdiction for counting. That jurisdiction does not need to pay people to verify identification at the polling place. There is also the ability to track what stage the ballot has reached so voters can individually verify what stage their ballot has reached and if it is being held up by some error by the voter (such as missing signature on the ballot envelope) so that they can correct it.
Having mail in ballots for the general population is more secure, easier, and less expensive. Win, win, win!

I was a notary public. I was legally required to check their ID and watch them sign in person. I could have lost my license if I didn't watch them sign. A lot of legal documents require a witness, and possibly a notary public. There is a darn good reason for it.

There are modern ways to notarize a document online, but it's involved and totally unfeasible to do with any large number of people.

A signature alone is not enough if you want to ensure integrity. That's why a legitimate notary public would NEVER notarize a signature that they didn't witness in person.
