There are hundreds of thousands of Americans living in other countries, for example according t9 the 2011 census there are 173,470 US-born residents in England, 3,751 in Wales, 15,919 in Scotland, and 4,251 in Northern Ireland. Most of them come here for our delicious food and lovely weather. There will be a lot more in other countries.
Now a lot of them will be here legally, like the American woman in the news headlines I screenshotted. BUT there's got to be millions living illegally, because being white and speaking a close enough version of English they don't stand out in a crowd the way other immigrants do so people don't mind so much.
BUT is enough enough. Is time to take out the trash and send the yanks home?
Should other countries have a mass deportation of illegal American immigrants?
You know, I don’t think people get who this affects.
It doesn’t affect the ones who enforce these rules and it doesn’t affect the ones with prejudices. It affects the ones who seek some type of refuge. Because their governments weren’t being fair.
It could be a good idea that each country close off to the rest of the world like Korea and not even allow passport travelers because any contact with another country would mean the high chance of foreigners/ tourists wanting to travel there more or live there.
Traveling may or may not give them reasons to stay abroad in another country other than their own. If everyone stayed put in their own country then they’d deal with their own politics and policies. It would probably and ideally halt world conflicts and attempts at dominance.
It would potentially halt on cross contaminated and wide spread diseases which originate in certain countries and then become global like corona virus among others.
The pros of keeping everyone in their own country would be as this^^
but there would be negative effects. The negative effects I notice would include and play out as this:
Isolated countries like Korea would result in no one trying to capture or dominate that/those countries. But the countries would lack communication, diversity, and unity with people of other countries.
It makes all the citizen people susceptible to unfair conditions and control of their country leader (s). As what happens in Korea.
If countries remain versatile and welcoming then this keeps the chance of other countries wanting to take their land, people, and resources, and even if not taking ownership, abusing.
Tourists also play an independent part in trades, economy and the supply and demand. It’s possible, if countries halted in all trades and simply allowed their own citizens to travel, buy and live as they pleased, then it would stop any hungry motives to dominate/abuse other countries.
* Regardless of what gets shifted, I don’t think that this is the best solution. I think this action in particular, divides people.
On one note, I don’t see the logic in it, if American immigrants don’t pose any pest issues like bed bugs, lice, or other.
I think also Americans (I can be wrong) would be more civil and prone to handle conflicts via legal regulations and justice, and/or via petty argument (s). They wouldn’t be prone to resort to physical violent conduct.
Meanwhile, other immigrants from other countries may be prone to do that, if they have dealt with violence from their countries, involving weaponry and physical abuse. So accordingly, if they encountered issues in a foreign country they were seeking asylum in, they could potentially be highly avoidant or combative, merely by instinct.
Is this good or bad? I don’t know. It doesn’t seem bad in the sense they’re willing to defend when they’ve been wronged, but it’s bad in establishing beneficial and communicative understanding, and bad if others or just anybody, gets hurt physically.
Even worse, if a bystander or simply someone not directly involved in the altercation.
I think a solution would somewhere lie between country trades and/or all people born, in being trained and taught to use a firearm,
this way no one has to rely on military members to defend them.
So, instead of refugees going to a country who will understand them (or have to understand them), and then defend them when their country comes for them, leading to fighting in some war- the refugees can just stay in their country, develop their own alliance, and defend themselves or put an end to those who are trying to hurt them, or eliminate them altogether.
It wouldn’t be a big issue if military members and citizens just agreed *not to aid the governments,* if what those governments called for meant direct harm of another person or people.
I think in the old days it was easier to bring about justice with words and in written form, through protests and disputes, but with the establishment of armies who have more loyalty to their leaders than the people, means all citizen people need a means and way, presently, of defending themselves if their leaders and militaries abuse their positions for malevolence.
Especially in countries where organized crime and rebels become an issue it would be better that the citizens have a means to defend themselves.
BUT it just seems like a relapse into the old “Wild West” mindset where everyone was just fending for themselves and people got shot daily. For people to really survive there has to be unity and the ability to discuss issues.
Everyone thinks of being independent, but no one person can defend themselves by a group of violent individuals or a group of aggressors with their own agenda each. So we all talk as if everyone should understand our view and sit comfortably, but if we don’t remain united then others will rule over us or we will not live very long if everyone resorts and fends for themselves.
There’s really no team efforts at play globally, so why does everyone believe they’re invincible? Immune?
If we all have corrupt people of influence making the calls then we are living by someone else’s agenda , and if we each live by our own agenda in a state of chaos then many will die. Either way, in unresolved conflicts, with no communication, people die. 🤷♀️
****Average citizens should strive for a peaceful relationship with the citizens of other countries. Each other. Because what they all have in common is their rank as mere citizens. If they’re divided they all have to respond and answer to their own governments on their own.

You have a point there, but how far would you actually go back in time? Haven't our ancestors all been at one point "illegal immigrants"? Before 1600 or whereabouts, only Native Americans could claim the North American territory as theirs. Before 1492, only Native South-Americans could claim the South American territory as theirs. The same goes for Europe: most nations only go back to the middle ages and some are much more recent creations.
That being said, I have moved abroad, I am an legal immigrant, have all the necessary documentation and followed all the legal channels. There are legal and illegal ways to do it, but you can't tell someone to stay put in the country he/she was born in just because their parents lived or resided there.

@lovegirll I wasn't referring to the black population, I was referring to the first white settlers. If I get the dates right, 1607 marked the first successful English colony settled in Jamestown, Virginia. That was the first and longest era of immigration that lasted until the American Revolution in 1775. There have been many more, mainly from Ireland, Italy, etc. during the 1800s.
Incidentally, the first ship carrying enslaved Africans arrived at Old Point Comfort on August 25, 1619. It was an English privateer ship that captured them from a Spanish slave ship.

by the way that would mean that less than one half of a percent of your entire population (Europe) is Americans.
Around 5% of our population is illegal immigrants. Meaning people who just ran a cross the boarder, were never vetted, never got a license or proper paperwork etc. If they killed someone, there would be no record of their finger prints.
Many of our laws wouldn't apply to them by technicality.
It's such a silly comparison. Illegal immigrants compared to people who had to get a passport, get a visa, probably take shots, pay taxes for both countries. When you want to extend a visa, you have to prove your worth by getting a job and convincing the government your presence there is a net positive for the country. That you're contributing.
Pretty sure one of my maths teacher was one of them she was always vague about what state she came from and how she got here. And she would bribe us with Candy from US so it seems they are a common problem actually, and we should for sure vote to get them out. Then again she was one of the good ones.
Um, we've had our own crackdowns in my country. There was a huge thing not long ago on fake passports. People have been investigated, found to be in possession of fake documentation, got imprisoned and will be deported once they serve their sentence. It's not mass deportation but it's scaring illegals to leave.

Probably not. Illegal American immigrants usually bring lots of money and job skills with them, which most countries are very happy to get. Unlike illegal immigrants to the US that have mediocre or no job skills and need government support.
Usually the ones that are there are very wealthy and add to the economy because it would be hard working off the books there, the ones we have here just basically take from the government and don’t pay taxes but I’m surprised other countries aren’t kicking out the illegals but it’s a big process just like here I would think
