I heard stories about men approaching women calmly and normal, and then she freaks out badly and claims that the chilled guy is sexually harassing her. Where the hell people get this idea and the metoo movement. What happens if you have a math question in school or work and you need help with the question. After you approach someone for help, they freak out because you're harassing them when you're asking about a simple math question. What happens if you call 911 for your place got robbed, then a female cop come and arrested you claiming your the robber when you own the damn place and also harassing her at the same time when your not

Reminds me of that time I saw a girl in the club drop her cards and her cash out of her purse. I felt nice so I picked it up and tried to give it back to her.

She reacted to me trying to give it to her in venomous rage. Sorry ladies... she's the reason I will drive past you with a flat tire and laugh as I do it. Even as that chick realized how fucked up she was being, she never said sorry. Here is the sad part... I blame myself for even trying to help a woman. I should've stolen her money. Of course it isn't and I seriously doubt that people are reporting harassment as just a guy approaching them to ask them to help with homework. It's usually more like the guy making comments that make her feel uncomfortable or not taking no for an answer.

It's those guys who feel they are owed something from a woman who keep persisting or making lewd comments that are the ones being accused, no matter how calmly they approach.

I think if a normal guy is asking a girl to go out with him, he needs to bring his friend with a video and have his friend video tape what actually went down. It's the only empirical evidence he needs to plead his innocence.

A guy I work with complimented one of the women in the office, saying "That's a pretty dress". She complained to HR, claiming sexual harassment. HR made him go to 2 days of sexual harassment / sensitivity training... without pay, as punishment.

The interesting part of this is that, after this happened and became well known around the office, she wondered why no one ever talked to her, not even other women. After a few moths, she quit.

Wherever you work your colleague should put a complaint in and contact an attorney. Unless there's context to the story you don't know that imply something else happened like a lewd act that he did while saying it or pushing her into a corner to say it etc. He did nothing wrong. She can on her looks or apparel because it makes her uncomfortable and if he keeps doing that afterwards over and over then it's a problem.

I have to take harassment videos every year by law cause I'm a NY resident. All companies make it part of compliance training once a year and just saying someone looks nice or pretty isn't sexual Harassment. Again if there's more to the story we don't know it might be different but based on what you've said he can't be reprimanded like that.

No. Most women are perfectly fine with being approached; they actually like it, even.

The big thing is that you just don't want to be a spaz about it. Read the room. Pick up on social cues. Make sure that she actually wants to interact with you in the moment.

Trying to get your waitress's phone number or chat up the cashier is probably not a good idea.

I believe we can be more sensitive to the needs of our fellow man, that we can be better neighbours to each other. Sometimes we take to much for granted and we forget to tell each other we care. I think Christmas provides a wonderful opportunity to find friendships and to show our loved ones that they are important to us, that we're happy they are in the world. It's something we should do more often. And the spirit of Christmas is a joyous reminder of our responsibility as people.
