Why do most parents in America seem to care more about their kids' test scores than their mental health?

Before some trigger-happy leftists (thankfully, not moderate Kamala Harris supporters) get upset: Yes, I did mean the US, not America as a continent (which is called the Americas).

For everyone else, what is even up with the stigmatization of mental health in the US? The explicity or implicity of such? I did not even get therapy until I was 18, and even then, it has become minimal since I was like 23.
