1 yI already am. Have been for years. My friend, A. J.. hated Trump but we still got on great together until she died about 5 years ago.
My 2nd girlfriend, Carol hated Trump with a passion but we nearly became lovers again 7 years ago.
One of my "close" GAG friends hates Trump but we still get on great, together.30 Reply 1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Of course I can just because we don't believe in the same politics doesn't mean that we can't be friends or we don't believe in the same type of friendship we all have different beliefs and everything and you can't allow that to come between you when you become friends with somebody they feel the way they feel you feel the way that you feel and you have to both respect that

1 yyes I have. It's just a matter of listening and learning not to argue. doesn't mean you have to agree. the challenging part is considering what they say when it challenges my own view.
we don't like to be unsettled... we want to conserve energy and keep what we think we know. that is a trap, there's always another viewpoint to consider and we aren't always right. As well... things change.
So be flexible, willing to change.
10 Reply I actually do have a friend with opposing views, far-left views about most things. We usually don't agree on much, but that doesn't matter. Neither one of us is a bratty, narcissistic, bad-tempered four year old, so it's not a problem.
30 Reply2.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Considering the political divide we have going right now, no.
In my country , things got to the point where civil war has been mentioned several times. As to how serious that was is debetable but things haven't really calmed down.
I can't be friends with people that support policies that would ruin my beloved homeland.

1 yI'm pretty sure my bestie Jamie Logsdon would have voted for Trump were he in the States.(He was born in Speedway, Ind., near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway;he once had a super cool picture of himself in an Indy Motor Speedway garage talking to a driver, but he gave to picture to his late youngest brother Mark, who lost it or had it stolen by one of his scummy "buddies").
10 Reply 3.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Nah I am good.
Of course if it's something slightly off that I am not that committed to I don't care but in many cases the other don't have one thing they have a pattern of bad opinions so why bother.10 Reply- 6.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
1 yI have several friends, and family members, with different political views. It doesn't affect our friendship.
40 Reply 5.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes. If I didn't, I wouldn't have any friends.
But there are some people whose views I find so repugnant that I don't want to be friends with them.10 Reply5.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. As long as we agreed on facts, yes. Start denying reality, and you're out of there. Apparently, that's happening in a lot of American families right now.

Anonymous(25-29)1 yyes. I don't care about views. I care about behavior
the moment they start going on some unhinged rant because I disagree with them and they can't provide any logical argument, only emotional ones, then they can kick rocks
20 ReplyAbsolutely. Very much like most od my family have different political views from me and we still love each other, spend time together, joke together.
20 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. This is common in the UK, as the political climate over here is not as virulent as it is in the US, and most people keep their politics between themselves and the ballot box,

Anonymous(25-29)1 yI have friends with opposite political views, though they are more of the "normie" kind and are willing to agree to disagree. I don't think any of the more zealous kind would want to associate with me.
