If I could get along with her as well as my wife and laugh and hug so peacefully even when we thoroughly disagree, she could be a full-blown fascist or communist and I wouldn't mind.

It's difficult for me to imagine a hardcore communist or fascist with that sort of character though who is so extremely open-minded and almost never gets offended or upset about anything as with the case of my wife. Yet if such a person existed and I was a bachelor, I don't see it posing any problems to our relationship.

Also, of course, provided that she does let me make the executive decisions that impact our entire household to resolve any conflicts resulting from disagreements, leaving me with the final say on matters that affect our entire family like where to send our children to school.

I'm capable of separating that from my friendships not sure if I could in a relationship tho as certain political beliefs also translate into lifestyle and if kids is gonna happen surly it would get in the way

Depends. I think its jsut about values aligning not necessarily being the same.
If you go to a restaurant there is always one person who likes ordering. If two people both always want to order the food. There's a clash - even though technically they are the same - both the one who likes ordering. This is a stupid example. But I think its how life works. People do not always need to have the same opinions and beliefs to be compatible.

I think that depends heavily on what exactly causes them to vote that way. If either one is actually taking positions seriously, then they are morally opposed to one another and it's wasted time and effort thinking that it'll work out.
