The original idea was for our government to be "of the people, by the people, and for the people". But that got hijacked when the Corporation of Washington DC took over the United States of America. Citizens then became captive corporate subsidiaries. This was driven home when the feds and states instituted income tax and some states instituted property tax.

In 2021, the government tried to take control of people's bodies by forcing them to take experimental injections.

There are many, many ways, such as birth certificates, in which the government actually owns us, but I don't feel like writing a dissertation.
