I think there is always a political agenda in these stats. There was a famous survey done in a maternity hospital where the mothers to be were asked a series of graduated question ranging from has your husband expressed anger in various ways up to has he ever knee capped you with a baseball bat.

The glory of this technique is you can get whatever result you want. In this case they wanted to report 1 in 3 women in hospital have been abused. To get that number all that has to be done is to pick a graduated level. Maybe that was saying BITCH as he slammed a door behind him.

But it is clearing intended to falsely convey that 1 in 3 women were in hospital from being beaten so baldly instead of giving birth to a child with their intimate partner.

The first chart could well be based on this trick and you need to look at the questions asked and the individual scores of each. As it is, a pickup who thrust harder than desired would qualify as intimate partner sexual violence.

Could well be the same as the rosebowl scam above. Advocacy research has to deliver the goods.

Apart from being difficult to read the country names. I think I can make out Latvia and Estonia in the second chart. Checked the rates, and the chart is nowhere near correct numbers. In all the chart doesn't tell us anything without comparative male and female homicide rates.

Most of them seem to fairly violent countries so no surprise more people - male and female - are killed. It is not necessarily a gender issue other than men are more likely to be killed

I just like to count my fingers when I see a group trying to persuade me of something. The Rosebowl scam opened my eyes. I'm sure the majority of women have long been persuaded and if you are not asking critical questions you will be.

Abuse is a beautiful word. It can be a severe beating, it can be verbal, it can be emotional. You can even abuse an inanimate object. All these can be rounded up as abuse and the create some context that will lead people to think it means something else.

I think some women are so hard up or desperate for love that they make very bad choices in men, and then pay the price for their not doing their due diligence. Everyone is so wanting to jump into sex that they are blinded to what they are getting into.
