Legally, children cannot be held responsible for their actions until they reach the age of reason, which is 16, 18 or 21, depending on where you are. We should not allow children younger than the age of reason to make such life-changing decisions, nor should we allow their parents to do it for them. Wait until they reach the age of reason, where they can legally make such decisions.

The only transition options available to kids 12 and under are name, pronouns and clothing.
It’s always possible to dig up and make a lot of noise about extreme and unusual cases, but the vast majority of kids under 12 are just changing these,.
And among kids who do socially transition, the rate of transitioning back to their AGAB is tiny, an order of magnitude smaller than the increase in risk of developing severe and often lifelong mood disorders among kids who aren’t allowed to transition.
Therefore, if the goal really actually is to protect kids from making a choice that leads to harmful outcomes that could stick with them for life, the evidence clearly lands on the side of just letting them wear the clothes they want to wear and use the name and pronouns they want to use.
The road to hell a paved with good intentions. And the best defense against that is to check your own assumptions.

We don’t have children select their permanent career at those ages, or get a tattoo, or make lifelong decisions, they can’t sign up for the military, or anything else like that. Too many have had regrets after they have transitioned especially at a younger age.

I mean it depends on what you want to do. If they just wanna wear different clothes or change their name who cares. Hormone blockers, HRT and surgeries are a bit much though. I'm not for a full on ban on it, but I don't think it's a good idea in most cases.

Yes. Age appropriately. Gender affirming care isn't surgery or HRT in children. It's phycologists, clothing, pronouns and a name. Depending on their age and severity of their case (everything is really a case by case basis) puberty blockers can be started.

This is no longer a question of opinion. There’s been plenty of medical research on the subject, and results are pretty consistent: people who seek and get gender affirming care as kids have MUCH better long term health outcomes than people who are compelled to wait until adulthood.
