There is no fixing or solution for that country. Saw it firsthand: those people will flip on each other for pennies and a bit of what's basically LSD. When the fight was against the Islamic State, the ISIS fighters and other rebels were switching banners every other week depending who was willing and able to pay. Assad was/is an absolute piece of human trash, but all alternatives are just as bad.
Technology may improve, and sometimes those countries enjoy a few years of relative prosperity, but they are perpetually stuck in the 13th century.
I agree with everything aside from Assad being trash.
But it's true that they were all working together 'cuz they all hated Assad, now that Assad is out of the picture, it won't be long before they begin to turn on each other
If am spelling it right Alawaits do have an enclave there - as do the Russians who might do better the second time round. But as I understand it even Assad's ethnic group - the Alawaits - don't like him.
An enclave would be cut off from the rest of the country. Now Assad is in Moscow it is far too late for him and I think him running is recognition of his assessment of the situation.
Nice pics by the way - thanks.
He made the mistake of diding with Russia and the us will send the message loud and clear.

I hope Syrians do not end up regretting this like the Iraqis did after Saddam was gone or Libyans did when Ghaddafi was gone!
They will
yes, I'd suggest the "United States of Syria".
Have a pure sharia section, a this section, and a that section... autonomous, but under one syrian rupublic. problem solved.
Lets hope they don't get nukes...
At this point Asshat can at most try to establish separate bedrooms in the Russian hotel they stashed him in.
You're saying you're happy the terrorists won?
No, in this shitshow there is not really a place for happiness. But I would argue that everything is better than the murderous regime that has choked the country for the last 50 years.
Well, I stand partially corrected:
