The DNA says otherwise. The middle eastern Levant DNA still predominates whilst Arabic DNA is about 30%. WRITTEN history records Arabic expansion into Egypt in the early 600's AD not BC. Well after Cleopatra VII.

The DNA does show a pulse of sub saharian African DNA in the past and undoubtedly there were black pharaohs.

It is more complicated than the leadership has this ethnicity so the entire people become that ethnicity despite the leadership getting preferential breeding access with the local girls.

It is more of a mass effect of there are a lot of boys of this ethnicity in this specific area because - as we know - put girls and boys within a bull's roar of each other and there is genetic admixture.

Egypt didn't become Greek because the Ptolemies were Greek.
