This is what prolife radicals want. They would even be capable of going as far as letting a raped child die giving birth just because of their "it's murder, no matter what" extreme stance.

I can imagine that's double traumatic. First it's a forced pregnancy and then forced childbirth process, something you never willingly participated on. I once dumped a date like that. He literally said that even if a 12-14 year-old got raped and it's a risk to her underdeveloped body, it's still murder and that yes she should still give birth. Another prolife radical that would let a child die.

It's still your kid. Half it's genes are your own and you maintain a fetal microchimeric cell line within your own body. Even if you murder the child, it's cells stay in your body for decades so you really never truly eliminate it unless you kill yourself. People can put their children up for adoption. Women also have a right to defend their lives if it's a serious medical risk during a pregnancy. That said, killing an innocent kid just because you're mad at some criminal is just misdirected violence. Go kill the rapist if you want vigilante justice, not the kid.

The vast majority of pro lifers support the right to an abortion in cases of rape, incest or threat to the health/life of the mother.

What they DO NOT support is using abortion as after the fact birth control, which has been the VAST majority of abortions over the last 50 years. Studies show that 95% of abortion are for reasons like not wanting a child to get in the way of education or career, not having a stable relationship with the father, not being ready to be a parent, or simply not wanting to be a mother. A woman killing her child in the womb for those reasons in disgusting.

If it's an abortion for contraception I'm on the fence. I wouldn't judge a women for getting one, but I don't know if I could go through with it. Thankfully I've never been in that situation, but I've met women who are on either side of the debate who have.

well for starters his scenario is impossible because a dead mother = a dead baby. there's no scenario where a mother dies during pregnancy and the baby lives.

even then, it's mostly a mindset issue from his POV. of course no one wants to die. not even soldiers, firefighters, police, rescue emergency services or men in general etc. want to die when it comes to protecting women, children and the elderly but they do it anyway to protect them. women are severely lacking this, wanting to be prioritized at the top of the most protected list above everyone else and even then most of it has nothing to do with life or death when it comes to abortion but simply out of inconvenience

There is a major difference if it's a child I willingly wanted (consensual sex) and obviously would put their life ahead of mine vs getting raped and forced into motherhood against my will, something I didn't ask for. Conceiving for 9 months would feel like someone holding me captive and torturing me.

If the rapist is caught, he gets a few years in prison, but the child gets the death penalty. Yeah, that's fair. Abortion is the ultimate in bullying. Rapists should spend many years in prison but women who kill their children should spend life in prison along with the medical staff who perform it.
