What's your opinion on anonymous?

I find them really frustrating at times, and sometimes they are ok. I am against it because it gives people opportunity to be cowards and hide.

Sometimes people need to do it anonymous, maybe they have a question they find that people may find stupid or silly.

Maybe it's a sexual question.

Sometimes they don't want their username branded with certain questions they ask like if a girl asked a sexual question then next few minutes they added her as a friend on here and then gets bombarded with messages in her inbox

Or some knob saying that are you really that stupid to the silly question.

I know some questions maybe spam types but not all

When I’m asking questions about my embarrassing medical issues or taboo sexual proclivities I always go anonymous. If I couldn’t ask anonymously, those questions would go unanswered.

I don’t hide when I’m asking something controversial, offensive or potentially unpopular.

So, I try to not be a coward.

I think a lot of people use it to troll, but it does serve a purpose for being able to ask questions without worrying about backlash.

Sometimes it's just common sense to hide, not cowardice. The problem here is that the anonymity is not perfect, since the alphabet agencies could totally dig the original posters up. While I have never used the option yet, I totally inderstand why some people do use it. The only thing I don't like is when they disable the option to reply to their comments.

I think anonymity should be removed or an account should get only a limited number of anonymous uses per year when asking questions.
2-3 times per year is enough.
And there should be no anonymity when commenting
This will reduce the number of attention seekers, the efforts of the respondents will not be wasted and the quality of the content will increase

Never posted Anonymously, and never plan on to , but the people that do? I usually don’t take them seriously , and don’t really wast my time on them , they are definitely insecure and scared to be judged and ridiculed for their questions and answers. I don’t take anyone seriously until someone says things to my face , so someone that hides is a coward to me

I really don't care.
It's not like I am going to meet the people on this site, so what does it matter.
So many usernames are not their real names anyway, and they either do not have a picture or is it really a picture of themselves of not.

I guarantee almost everyone here as gone anon at some stage including hypocrites who call other anons cowards

but then again blocking is also a sign of cowardice

I'm all for disabling anons and disabling blocking but since those features exist right now, might as well use them

There have been studies that people behave worse on the line while under the guise of anonymity.

My opinion is g@g has enough rules which will lead to the removal of bad posts whether anonymous or not. So I think it is ok here but it shouldn’t be on a facebook page or something like that which is a real social network.

Technically almost everyone without a real profile pic of themselves and real names is anonymous lol. But I think they have a right to be anonymous. Though I agreed it’s frustrating when they overabuse it with being rude to others.

It helps people open up if they are scared for goofy stuff. At the same time some people options should make them scared and they know it. So they know it's abhorrent and are trying to pass on propaganda to change what's acceptable.

The only thing is that you can't DM anons who are anonymous. re-state//background_color_rgba (0, 0, 0, 0), font_color_rgb (77, 77, 77), justifyLeft

I think that it is like most everything else. Some people use it as it was intended and others use it as means of trolling. Though it seems like most of the trolls go befriend a few of the mods and then troll out in the open.
