Are most bullies really narcissists?

Do you most bullies are narcissists? Either that or have some narcissistic traits from a young age?

I think so because after a certain age, if you really find pleasure watching someone having a miserable time and see nothing wrong with it, there is something wrong with the person mindset? I think they're too far gone by then.

It doesn't take 10-20 years later to finally realize what you did was wrong, lol. Not buying it.

I believe so. If you're going out of your way of making someone's school life miserable, take away their rights to form friends and develop their social skills (wasting their time) without feeling bad, your screwed in your mind. Frankly I don't care about your miserable upbringing. If you were miserable, then I was the right person to speak with. I could've helped you by speaking with a counselor about your situation. But to lash it out on innocent parties that don't deserve it; may you continue feeling with the guilt if you have any. I hate bullies. My social skills got delayed because of them.

I think age matters but if we are talking about adult bullies then there’s certainly some narcissism going on.

i think for being a bully, your upbringing matters a LOT. even till later in live. cause once you learned that being abully solves your problems, why would you stop being a bully when you're older? never change a running system. and for many "old bullies", they never had to change their ways, cause they always got away with it.

yeah let's say an 18 year-old HS senior continues bullying others and thinks it's funny, that's already an adult right there and it's likely he/she's too far gone.

I don't know. i don't think of bullies doing it for the fun of it. i think they do it cause they never properly learned to solve issues. it's not a fun joy thing.

@genericname85 then not knowing how to solve issues correctly means someone is wrong with their mindset. Some bullies have actually taken things too far, such as laughing at someone bald after they survived cancer. A normal person wouldn't find that funny.

yeah they are wrong with their mindset. that's what i'm saying as well. i'm just also saying that they're probably not enjoying that.

like think of me what you want but i did bully someone before. just once, cause i wanted to feel what it's like and the chance presented itself to me. it worked wonders but it felt terrible as fuck. never did it again.

@genericname85 If you immediately felt bad afterwards the following day (not years later) and never did it again, that way different than someone that's bullying for years nonstoppable and still doesn't see anything wrong with it.

no i felt bad immediately. right after that very second i did that once. the thing is i did already have other ways to solve problems. so i had the option not to do that anymore. probably unlike those who're still doing it.

Then that's good. It means you have basic empathy and have the ability to identify when hurting someone's feeling... unlike those persistent bullies that can come back home from school normal as if nothing ever happened, go to school the next day and continue with the bullying.. and go on months or years doing it.

i mean i guess what i'm trying to say is that i kind of still have empathy for these people. cause it is my experience, this doesn't feel good. and i can't imagine it feels good to them.

nope. most bullies actually suffer from terrible parents or a terrible family environment. like yeah if someone is a narcissist, there's a good chance that they're also a bully but being abully has lots of other reasons besides narcissism. so you can't claim that a bully is likely also a nacricssist. it's possible but it's not deterministic.

Not all of them but many. A narcissist is actually formed through a terrible upbringing since it's a disorder that needs molding; that one isn't born with. Yet not everyone who has terrible parents and a bad environment turn into bullies.

i thnik if you draw a venn diagram between nacrissists and bullies, there certainly is some overlap but also considerable separation.

yeah there seems to be some correlation. I have to say the older the bully is, the more likely they have acquire some narcissistic traits by then. Like stated, if someone is already a HS senior and either 17 years old or already turned 18 and still into bullying; there is no cure for them by then.

Not really. It's more most narrcists are bullies. But the amount of Npd to not is lower and bullies on average are a good amount anyway especially if speaking of youth. And anyone has the capability to bully.

This comes from deep insecurity and anger often caused by abusive parents.

Yet I can't sympathize with any of them nor taking it out on an innocent party who had nothing to do with their insecurities. I was an innocent child too. If one of my former emotional bullies from middle school (esp this girl that set me up twice, faking a friendship and even gave my a false number) told me that, I wouldn't care. I think my reply would be ''Well frankly my dear, I don't give a damn''.
