Context would be nice lol. Given the job isn't some evil thing I would probably make it work. Work doesn't define you, or doesn't have to, it can be just what you do to survive. The whole work to live vs live to work argument.

It really all depends. If I was underpaid for what I did, but able to have enough to say, pay my bills, have a roof over my head, health coverage, and save enough for retirement, I'd be content with taking those vacations I would otherwise never be able to afford. Those would hopefully be all great experiences and that's what life should be about. Not what things can I buy. I can care less. So I might be inclined to stay in a job like this.

I would not say yes if I was living in squalor and couldn't afford rent or a place to live but given all these vacations as a trade off.

That's more than I make now and I don't like my job and don't get 4 million in free vacations lol. I say do it. I don't look at work as something I have to love because I love other things more. If you paint the whole picture I can give a more definitive answer but as of now I say just do it. If you throw a curve like but they are holding your family hostage or something crazy then obviously no lol

Your response is totally reasonable. The difference to Thomas is that you aren't doing what billionaires want you to do.

That's the whole problem with the legalised bribery; it might be true that politicians or influencers would do the same as they'd always done, but they can afford to live on it, even hire production staff and studios. Tim Pool's $100,000 a month from Russia, for example. He didn't necessarily change his shtick, but he didn't have to worry about where the money to live on came from.

Agreed totally with that. This should not be allowed period. How it doesn't upset right wingers is weird. I guess they feel like if it works in their benefit then they're fine with bribery. They're fine with a lot of criminal acts as long as it benefits them. They'll vote for a felon and a rapist, oh excuse me, sexual abuser, can't stay rape because he only forcefully inserted fingers into a woman that didn't want him to, so that's fine. Many American Christians are fine with it as well cause all of that is meets their moral standards apparently.

Good for you? If you gave context to your question, which felt like you were holding back, I would have answered differently. I'm coming from a place where the job is within moral standing and nothing like a conflict of interest that could affect millions of people like a supreme Court judge because of this corruption. Your question didn't give enough context for this to say a person answered good or not lol. That said Clarence Thomas should not be allowed to do any of this and should be held accountable for it.
