I think that the fact that half the country elected Trump is a comment on the unconscious contempt so many people have for the US after literally nearly 300 years of war, foreign aggression, gencide, corruption, frauds, and violations of out own laws. Self - hatred is very strong now.

I also think that people on the right will respond to this with anger and denial, saying everything is just fine now that the mentally ill criminal is in office. Denial of their own reality is yet another in dicator of self-hatred.

Have you actually lived in Mexico like I have and do you really know anything about it or are you just simply making things up because of what you've heard on the internet?

Anyway, I will just come and hear that both Mexico and the US are corrupt and to some extent lawless countries. I am not sure of the involvement of cartels with the Mexican government but I do know that long before cartels existed there was corruption in Mexico. There is also corruption in the United States in the form of collusion between various industries and the United States government to the detriment of US citizens and visitors to the US. Whether it's the cartel or it's some large industrial concern that is victimizing citizens and visitors really makes no difference. Mexico and the United States are more alike than they are different. What the US right-wing does not like about Mexico is the lack of involvement by US industries in Mexican corruption.
