People are only as loyal as their options, yes or no?

People are only faithful to their partner, because they don't have a choice otherwise or feel compelled to by their upbringing. The options are typically "get one person and sleep with them" or "stay single and sexually frustrated". Some people can sleep with whoever they want without needing commitment, but most cannot. Monogamy is a sort of a "necessary evil", not an intrinsically "desirable outcome".

“But it’s good for children”, you might retort, “having parents’ partners go in and out of their lives is bad for their development” and that is the only time, where monogamy becomes relevant. Imagine, if you will, that the population is rendered immortal and/or never ages. Reproduction is now immaterial, because you have an indefinite lifespan. Changes the equation quite a bit, doesn’t it? If there’s no need for children, but the urge to f*ck is still there, why not pursue it completely and relentlessly? Enjoy pure pleasure, as much as possible, without restraint or complication—granted, we’d have to eliminate all STIs, but I digress.

All of which is to say, if every person alive could enjoy an entire population of their choosing, having sex with as many different people as often as they desired, vs settling down with just the one, why would anyone choose the latter over the former? Nobody would limit themselves, if they didn't have to. Monogamy is forced upon people.

Nope and I honestly can’t see many people openly agreeing with that ever
The conscious amongst us understand themselves and the workd enough to realize that it’s not about options as much as it is about “choice” and I’m evolved enough to understand that reasoning does and should play a primary role in all potential choices.
Doing something purely based on having the option too basically at least removes reasoning , consciousness and consequence.


I have the option of buying a car , but what about servicing , reliability, economy , safety
I have the option of screwing a woman at work but what does that mean for me beyond getting laid? What are the consequences?


People have morales , they have a code of conduct , they understand consequence and promoting the common good. The have a conscious , a morale barometer and compass. Loyalty would and could never be traded so easily otherwise it looses all meaning.

For many people monogamy is more than a choice forced on them, it’s an essential part of being happy. Even though I occasionally have sex with other women, it’s with my wife’s knowledge and consent, and often her participation as well. We’re very happily married, have an awesome sex life, I would trade her for anyone.

Our issue is I have a huge sex drive, and she knows I find it fun and exciting to sometimes have sex with other women- usually a threesome with my wife, but sometimes she just watches or wares for me to tell her about my experience later. It makes our sexual relationship even stronger.

Not true.. Pointless sex with rando's would hurt me too much and make me feel disgusting since what I want is love with that special person. To me sex is love and I don't like to share love with people who don't love me.

Monogamy is just SLIGHTLY safer but a whole hell of a lot boring. For a long time I kept wanting to find 'true love' and once I did it grew old real fast. I missed going out and banging them different flavors (wink wink) SO no more monogamy for me homies and homettes I'm out dipping into the Chocolate, Vanilla, Butterscotch n all that. Also make sure to have a threesome at least once every couple months. Not into orgies though too much going on there.
