Were women actually oppressed by men?

It often seems that women feel they are oppressed more so now than they did when they were supposed ‘oppressed.’

If you read studies performed most women didn’t even want to work but were slowly coerced into working.

All people have been doing is upholding religious beliefs, traditional beliefs that actually lead to a better society. Yet many people believe they are all above that and know more.

I'm definitely not an advocate for modern day feminism, but you'd have to be delusional to believe that women were not oppressed in the past.

In primal times when power was about who possessed the most physical strength, men definitely ruled over women. There were exceptions of course such as Cleopatra and others, but the majority of society back in primal eras would not accept females as leaders/rulers.

Nowadays, the gap has closed immensely due to technology, security, and law enforcement. There isn't as much of a need for physical strength (although there still is) and most physical jobs are being quickly replaced my machinery, robotics, and now even AI.

If anyone has any knowledge or basic understanding of history up to at least the 1960’s in at least the majority western world then they understand that women have been oppressed and oppression still exists globally to this day.
Discrimination is still very much here and now though some of it obviously justifiable. Equality will never truly be equal.

in the past women were not as free as they are now so yes they were kinda
