Will be honest, in the UK if you don't show up with ID and your voting card you don't get to vote. It's the same in Europe too. Really don't understand why it's a big issue in America as everyone has ID. For instance a club in the us wouldn't let me in because I'm under 21 and my ID agrees.

In the US, the Republicans advocate voter ID not because they're worried about fraudulent voting which is just an excuse. But rather they don't want minorities or poor people voting because those people tend to vote against them. The whole thing about voting and fraud is basically a lie. Don't be sucked in by this.

We have minorities in the UK too. They have no problem getting ID. In fact in the UK you can litteraly do nothing without ID. You have to have a provisional licence to learn to drive at 17, you need a licence to get into a pub/club or to buy drink at 18, you need I'd to join the army at 16, you need an id to get married at 16 which is now 18 in England and Wales, you need I'd to get a job, you need it to get welfare, need it for a bank account, need it to bug a car. Don't really see how minorities don't have ID.

It is not that they don't have ID. it is more that getting ID is a major hassle and takes a whole day or longer, and it is - like everything in the US- not free. Many minorities have no car, and public transportation is again expensive or non-existent in most cities (where I live in LA there is essentially NO safe public transportation). Most poor people and minorities don't want to spend the time or money getting ID just to vote.

In the US there has never been a significant amount of voting fraud. The voting fraud allegation by the right is just an excuse.

We have all the same problems but the fact is you can't do nothing unless you have an ID. Most minorities would say it's racist to say that they are to lazy or stupid to get an ID.

It is not just minorities - it is also poor people that Republicans want to prevent from voting. Requiring ID does that. The situation in the UK and that in the US are not equivalent and trying to compare them is an error.

You have not. I can only conclude that there is nothing stopping minorities in America from getting ID and voting, and that everyone has ID as its a necessity. I found it very easy as a non-american, non citizen to get ID

I do not know what kind of ID you need to vote in NC and my best friend that lived there has died last year. I do not think it matters at this point though.

I had a cousin I was very close to die of Covid and I too never got to say goodbye. You have my sympathy for your loss...

He did not die of covid. He was moving to NC and I told him I wanted to buy him a steak dinner before he left. He was moving far away and I did not know when we would see each other again. Covid screwed everything up and the next thing I knew he was gone.
Then I find out he died of cancer. You would think one of his sisters would have called me to let me know. I had to find it on the internet.
