I read 50 shades. The book was a thing of pure genius, not because it was well written (definitely wasn't) but because the author worked out a formula to appeal to a large demographic of horny women and create hype behind it.

A basic boring pretty white girl college student with no money who is at college studying journalism and has a part time job to pay the bills, who is also sexually naive and inexperienced meets a handsome charming well educated billionaire who is sexually experienced, good in bed but has a darker side and is controlling and toxic but through her love he can change. Pure Gold.

It's painful to read. It's the kind of books you have to earmark the hot passages. It's like guys with porn DVDS, the DVD might be an hour long but they only watch about 5 minutes

I don't have quotes in mind at all for this context. I do remember being astonished by a girl's reaction when I was 17, for just one word I said. We were hanging around downtown, I barely knew her, I said the word conditioning, thought conditioning aaaand she didn't know the word. At all. Not the word, nor the concept itself, I was caught totally off-guard because I suddenly thought about the ramifications, about how she would view the world without this concept... I wasn't prepared for that, I was still young, I was still thinking that, overall, people are the same, that we all come from the same background and reflect about the world in similar ways.

That was such a plot twist to me, back then lol. Revelations.
