Americans in general are going to college in waves, having high skilled labor that pays better, aim for jobs with better working conditions, minimal working hours, and ‘comfy’.
Mexicans who crossed the border and want a life here tend to take up low skilled jobs that have less benefits, longer hours, less forgiving conditions, and ‘less comfy’ since they are happy to do any work. The fact is, Mexicans aren’t coming after your job since high skilled labor needs an education standard which cannot be met without college for one. For two, if you work in ‘low skill workforce’ there will always be job openings since construction, plumbing, cleaning, etc. all require lots of man power.
In the end, you are most likely going to find CEOs / Corporate finding ways to eliminate human labor and workarounds to screw you the American worker over not because of “Great Replacement Theory”, but because it costs less from the company to cut benefits & cut pay & cut recognition for your hard work. Just how it is, though Unionize and stand against the oppression. Don’t label it on people just trying to live their life just like you with their own independent thought, beliefs, and ideals trying to get by.
To be fair, it's a shitshow all round. When Britain left the EU it was assumed all the "immigrants" would leave - it instead created more problems in the job market and shortfalls in skills. Not simply because a lot of the immigrants didn't leave. But the hostile atmosphere made it not a good place for people with skills to come to.
The problems are never as simplistic as half-wit politicians like Trump sell them as. There is a lot more nuance that people don't understand.
In the case of the US, there are few jobs "illegals" fill. It's mostly temp work if anything. The real problems are the export of US jobs - but corporations and billionaires tend to hide such things from the general public.
The ones entering legally will get those jobs and be forced to become citizens ASAP instead of putting it off for 10 -15 years or never getting it done. If your not ready to take the oath of locality to the USA then you don't belong here. It's the one of very few plans that this man I despise as a lying, cheating, woman hating creep has that I would agree with. That wall he has now ordered construction started again is a ridiculous and ignorant waste of our money. Better stop now before I really get wound up this morning.
What will happen is that American citizens will see a rise in their wages and living standards. Teenagers and students will be able to get part time jobs again.
Teenagers can get part time jobs now, but like you said wages are terrible. One can hope they will increase for us.

Why did you put the word “illegals” in quotation marks? If you cross the border “undocumented” then broke the law no matter which country you are from or which country you entered (their laws can vary but still). It’s not a racial or xenophobic issue either. It’s just plain facts.
Now do I think everybody whole illegally immigrated here is a violent criminal? No. Do I think they should all be deported? No not all of them.
Some of them have shown the aptitude to work hard, acclimate, respect our cultures and laws. I can respect that. So there is some gray zone on their citizenship.
But they are still technically illegal immigrants because they came here illegally. Simple as that. I am just really fed up with leftist semantics on that. The democrats really just want future voters with all that crap.

Isn't workforce participation down to 60%? Assuming in a country of 320 million that only 100 million are of working age that is 40 million adults not in the workforce that could otherwise be. I think current estimates of the amount of criminal immigrants is 12-24 million; and that is of all ages. So not all of them are working. Plus you have high school aged kids that want summer jobs and automation is getting to the point where we could have robots fully staffing a McDonald's.

Immigrants fill those positions, but that doesn't mean they have to be illegal immigrants.
There is literally no valid argument to continue allowing people to freely and illegally enter our country. It's already been a disaster, but the potential for disaster is far worse than what we have experienced to date. Even with all the horrible things some illegal immigrants have done, it could be worse. And the truth is, most of us have no clue how many bad things illegals have done because the legacy media doesn't report most of them.
We need to cut our losses and close the border. The policies of the last four years have been pure insanity. They end today, as they should.

I know all about the farm workers. I used to work in the farm industry in California. CBS isn’t going give the full story in one article. Even if they could fit it into a single article, the left has been claiming that the flood of illegal immigration is fake news. So, now they are worried about the deportation of thousands of people they claim aren’t here.
On the other hand fear of deportation could be used to exploit illegals even more. Cheep wage slaves who don't deserve any healthcare, retirement or any other social benefits and work for hunger wages are dream of capitalists.
