Can you drive after smoking weed?

Isn't that a dui? I was working on my boat trailer today in the boat ramp parking lot because, well the boat has to be off of the trailer to do this. Anyways, this dude rolls up in a late model corvette and I smell marijuana from his car because it was a convertible. I keep on working and he starts driving around and stopping at different spots in the parking lot, getting out of the car etc. Anyways, after 20 minutes or this I look over and this dude is looking up at the sun making picture frame gestures with his hands with a big ass smile on his face, lmao. He's high as a kite at this point, maybe that's what he thought he was doing, was flying a kite. lol Anyways, can you still drive in that condition? There's a reason why I don't smoke weed.

You absolutely can drive high. I think it’s kind of crazy that it even counts as a DUI. I’m more affected by drinking 1-2 beers than if I smoked an entire blunt, dead serious. The most dangerous part is the physical act of smoking and getting distracted by it.

There’s zero — I repeat, louder for the people in the back, ZERO — functional or perceptional alteration for me. I’m honestly MORE focused. I drove drunk one time when I was young and stupid, that was a completely different animal. My BODY and VISION were affected. And even just having a post-work beer when I was a bouncer and then driving home…. I was always like “I’m 6’2 and over 200 lbs, I know I could pass a breathalyzer…. but I’m not sure about a field sobriety test. So I kind of don’t drink at all before driving. One beer MAX. I’m not a big drinker anyway.

I don’t know if it’s just hitting other people differently, but it seems almost nonsensical to me to call being high “impaired.” I feel good, mellow, but in NO WAY impaired. Maybe I need to find better weed, I don’t know😂

It is illegal to drive like that but the problem is trying to prove it. It is not simple like a breathalyzer. There is a lot of controversy as to how much weed you can smoke before you are impaired. I think that we should err on the side of caution. Any THC found in your system and you lose your license.

Lots of places it's legal now, although probably not the driving part, but I've heard the courts just throw it out so they don't bother ticketing for it.

@red324 it is legal where I live. There was a big dispensary across the street from whare I worked. I guess they have to deal in cash because the banks won't deal with them so they limit the number if customers that go in the store. The rest have to wait outside.
Sometimes especially on Fridays it looks like a homeless shelter outside.

Can you or should you?
Most kids use vehicles to fill with weed smoke and drive around like that. It's how I first had marijuana. A group pulled over to say high to my friend and it came out of the car in a big square when they rolled the window down. lmao
When they left I said "I'm hungry" cracking everyone in my group up.

It helps my migraines and leaves me with very clear thought process. (I cannot take modern chemical pain killers) But I take it for migraines in very low dose. High CBD and low THC strains designed for pain.
So the answer would be on depends on the levels of THC of the weed being smoked.
Weed from the 1960's for instances had plants that packed a punch. These days everything is lab tested and improved for choices. Those strains still exist but they are expensive and just for the psychedelic effects.
My guess is he was either smoking for a while or had some good stash.

He had some good shit. I think he lit it up as soon as he got off the phone because I didn't smell it immediately. He sat about 40ft from me in the car and coincidently the wind was blowing in just the right direction.

I certainly wouldn't, not when that stuff smells like it does. Roll the window down in trafffic when a cop is around and you're done. I don't have a problem with weed, it's not really my thing, but it needs to be done at home.
