No, I don't I think it's inappropriate for a lot of reasons and it's not the woman's fault honestly, it's just reality. 1. It doesn't really matter why you have your tit out in public in my opinion if that's exposed it basically flashing anyone who sees you and since that's illegal in normal society why do they get a special exception when we have bottles as an option? If you want to breast feed that's fine in fact, I encourage it because studies show that breast fed babies have a closer bond with their mother but more importantly, they're often much healthier too so it's great for the baby's wellbeing but that should be done at home in privacy and a bottle used in public.

2. Like it or not from a societal perspective breasts are a sex organ and there for showing it in public is indecent exposure. It's not the woman's fault this is just a basic rule societies have, and it makes sense. There isn't a straight guy alive who doesn't like tits or playing with them in bedroom etc.

3. If I was her partner, it would make me super, super uncomfortable. People staring at your partner is going to happen regardless especially if they're pretty or handsom but there's a difference between seeing a guy check your girlfriend or wife out and gooning like a pervert at a random woman's tit. There are certain parts of your body that once you're in a relationship are for each other's eyes only. I wouldn't show off my dick to someone else for the same reason I wouldn't want my partner showing her tits in public.

Unfortunately, some societal norms suck for some people this is one such case. Also, the act of breast feeding isn't the part that's inherently sexualized the actual breast is, although some people do have a breast-feeding fetish but that's not the point.

The point is to the vast majority of the public having your tits out in public is indecent exposure because breasts are fetishized in society to that extent. Breast feeding in private is perfectly fine but if we have indecent exposure laws, (and we should) they can't only apply when their convenient.

A lot of babies do not take well to having any cover over them while eating. Our first child constantly flipped the cover off while she was being breast fed. No point in fighting that. So when she was hungry that is how she was fed. Finding a place that is not overly public would be best if possible.
