Should lego be banned for reinforcing negative gender stereotypes?

Lego, with it's rainbow of different colour bricks has always been considered an inclusive toy that kids of all genders can enjoy. Traditionally, the top of the brick with sticking out pins is male, the bottom of the brick with holes to receive the pins is female.

However many are now claiming this reinforces heteronormativity and discriminates against lesbian couples. As one angry mother said, "It's impossible to buy an all female lego set anywhere, it's like they're brainwashing girls they need a man. Lego is virtually rape, the bricks have no choice."

Others have been quick to point out lego bricks are actually gay males because they have both the ability to penetrate or take a pin in the bottom and it's offensive to refer to male/female parts. As one horrified Texas woman put it, "I used lego to explain the birds and the bees to my daughter before her wedding night. I feel disgusted now I know the truth."

But how do you feel about lego? Is it dangerous Danish communism brainwashing kids with LGBT ideology or reinforcing outdated concepts of inflexible fixed gender identity?
