Men are generally ordered to pay a fixed amount of child support which is usually high enough that it impairs their own standard of living and enriches the standard of living of their Ex-Wives. This, along with alimony is a big reason why men refuse to get married these days. Nobody wants to support an ex-wife for the rest of her life. Child support is just an excuse to enrich women. Men almost never are awarded custody of their child unless the ex-wife is something like a murderer or a drug dealer. And even then it is not certain they will get any custody at all and if they do it won't be much.

child support payments go into the ex-wife's bank account and only God knows where that money is truly being spent

not on new school shoes or homework books or baby food but at salons and painting nails and butt implants

Alimony and child support are not the same. financial hardship and lack of access to the child is usually why men don't pay child support.

They avoid paying child support for as long as they can. sometimes they get arrested, but more often their income and property get attached and taken.
