No, not necessarily. Some truly believe that a whole family is what's best for the kids. Plus what if the guy does decide to separate and he contests custody and the state sides with him and she has to pay child support? Things like that can and do happen is it still a money thing then?
Also, no one gets to just decide how a kid will turn out/feel as a result of their whole world and all they know being flipped upside down because their family is now no longer the same.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for divorces; never stay in a bad relationship no matter the case. My sister was in a bad relationship and got out of it, but my niece blamed herself and hated herself for it. Though it wasn't her fault and it was for the better, the damage was already done. Sure they could move on ok, but they also might not.
All I'm trying to say, if you even read all this I mean, is that there could be more to it than just money. No disrespect.
Generally it's because the divorce may cause the child's life to unstable and they wanna prevent that.
Although I'd argue that living with two parents who resent each other maybe much worse than living through a divorce.

Thanks. Appreciate you telling me that I can just get through my parents' divorce. I wish that they had stayed together for whatever f$#&ing reason they could come up with. As a kid living through their divorce was hell and, by the way, it followed me/us for the rest of our lives and when my mom died and when my dad died to. It was the excruciating gift that kept on giving.
So, no. Sometimes it really is for the kids and it's a damn good choice.
Could be both and 70% of divorces are filed by women anyway, women are selfish nowadays.
