Thankfully Melania seems to have run Barron through the wringer to prevent the same issues.

He has Natalie Harp the "human printer / stalker" to follow him around with a handheld printer and print off headlines or tweets of favorable coverage to cheer him up or calm him down. Secret service has deemed her a security risk by the way.

Also, The POTUS daily brief was also condensed to 1 page of bullet points (from 9-12 pages under prior POTUSs) and they capitalize, repeat & bold his name so he pays greater attention.

The guy reads from teleprompters all the time well enough. He wouldn't be able to speech as long as he does in such an obvious manner that he is reading text if he struggled to read. He may prefer not to, maybe its specific types where it needs to be a specific contrast or text size. But he seems to be able to do it well enough for the job.

How come in 4 years nobody noticed that we had a senile president. We had somebody who would get lost on a stage and would shake hands with imaginary people. He could not get through an interview without note cards and during press conferences he had to be asked pre approved questions and given the answer in advance.

He actively chooses not to read. He's great at bullet points and ablibling between them. Even the teleprompter would look like word salad to most people don on the fly can make a full speech. Guys got an Amazing skill in that.

In terms of daily reports and debrief he does actively refuse to even try to use basic reading skills. Key difference of can't or won't with the latter to your question.

I always get the vibe the President (Trump) is an odd personality. I do note he and I share the same germ phobia , but apart from that, he seemed to get weird as a person when he abandoned the Democratic party. Again I'm not American and views are my own. Remember "he was once a Democrat"

Well at his age you cannot read fine print without glasses. He strikes me as a vanity rather fake it then admit he needs readers. Magnifying contacts blur distance and aren't helpful.
